The successful candidate will –
- support the Legal and HR Director by ensuring the effective implementation of HR policies, maintaining employee records, and assisting management with various HR-related processes and projects.
- have a strong understanding of HR administration while also appreciating the human factor in the workplace, demonstrating empathy, fairness, and professionalism when dealing with employees.
- lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives, while supporting the broader HR function in a dynamic environment.
- be responsible for implementing and overseeing all ASLA training aspects from planning to execution and will have experience in the construction training environment.
- Be responsible for rolling-out the ASLA talent management process, including performance management, succession planning, development of employees and onboarding / induction processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate and manage the recruitment and selection process, including advertising vacancies, screening applications, and arranging and conducting interviews
- Assist with employee onboarding, induction, and orientation processes
- Draft, review, and update job descriptions in collaboration with management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation
- Assist with the implementation and administration of the performance appraisal process, succession planning and organisational development
- Coordinate training and development initiatives
- Facilitating employee retention strategies
- Coordinating engagement, wellness, and recognition initiatives
- Ability to design and implement strategic and skills training programs.
- Knowledge of Construction industry specific BBBEE construction scorecard, CETA and EEA requirements.
- Maintaining accurate training records to support the compilation and submission of the WSP and ATR.
- Interact and collaborate with industry peers on Construction Industry related Human and Industrial Resources practices.
