Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for a People Partner/Talent Acquisition specialist based in Melrose.  This is a full time office position.

The People Partner exists to drive measurable outcomes across recruitment, retention, performance, and employee engagement

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end recruitment for all priority roles, including active headhunting, sourcing, and pipeline building, not just inbound application management.
  • Own and optimise the ATS (Breezy) to ensure structured, consistent, and accountable hiring processes across the business.
  • Design and refine competency-based screening, including role-specific scorecards and structured interview panels.
  • Manage hiring timelines proactively, escalating delays and bottlenecks before they impact the business.
  • Coordinate with ExCo and hiring managers to define role requirements, candidate non-negotiables, and remuneration expectations upfront.
  • Conduct reference checks, background verification (Dots Africa), and candidate due diligence with rigour. Prepare and issue employment contracts accurately and timeously
  • Manage the full onboarding experience from offer acceptance through to end of probation.
  • Conduct structured probation check-ins at defined intervals, identifying and escalating at-risk employees early.
  • Facilitate cultural induction sessions that connect new joiners to Sourcefin's mission, values, and operating model.
  • Coordinate all pre-start logistics, equipment, system access, workspace so new joiners are set up on day one • Own the employee satisfaction survey cycle end-to-end, design, execution, analysis, and action planning.
  • Proactively identify flight risks and high-value employees requiring targeted retention interventions.
  • Monitor engagement signals across the business and escalate concerns before they become resignations.
  • Support the design and execution of meaningful recognition and culture initiatives, not performative events.
  • Act as a trusted first point of contact for employee concerns, resolving where possible and escalating with context where not
  • Produce regular People metrics reports covering recruitment speed, quality-of-hire, retention, engagement scores, and performance completion rates.
  • Present People data commercially, focused on implications for the business, not just activity updates.
  • Identify trends and surface recommendations based on data rather than anecdote.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • 3–5 years in a People, HR, or Talent Acquisition role — ideally in a fast-moving scale-up, fintech, or professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end recruitment capability, including active sourcing and headhunting — not just coordination.
  • Track record of owning outcomes rather than executing tasks — someone who identifies what needs doing and does it.
  • High EQ and ability to manage and have awareness of difficult situations within the workspace
