We are seeking a hands-on People Operations Generalist to support day-to-day HR functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role serves as a trusted partner to employees and supervisors, with a strong focus on employee relations, compliance, and people support, while also contributing to recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management.

This individual will play a key role in fostering a respectful, engaged, and high-performing workplace culture and will serve as a champion for building and sustaining a Great Place to Work environment across both lab and field teams.

Requirements

 

Employee Relations & People Support

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and workplace concerns 
  • Partner with supervisors to address performance, attendance, conduct, and conflict resolution 
  • Provide coaching to leaders on communication, people management, and policy application 
  • Support investigations and ensure consistent, fair, and well-documented outcomes 
  • Assist with disciplinary actions and terminations in compliance with policy and law 

Operations & Workforce Support

  • Provide on-site HR support for hourly and salaried manufacturing employees 
  • Support remote operations for the Arizona lab location, including periodic travel (up to 20%) 
  • Partner with leadership to balance production needs with strong people practices 
  • Promote safety, engagement, and accountability on the production floor 

Talent & HR Administration

  • Support recruiting efforts including job postings, screening, and interview coordination 
  • Coordinate onboarding to ensure a positive new hire experience 
  • Maintain HRIS data accuracy and employee records 
  • Assist with benefits administration and employee inquiries 
  • Track and report HR metrics (turnover, attendance, hiring data) 

Training & Development

  • Support onboarding and ongoing training initiatives 
  • Identify development needs within the manufacturing environment 
  • Assist in coordinating leadership and compliance training 

Compliance & Engagement

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws 
  • Support consistent policy administration 
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and recognition programs 
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement efforts

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of HR Generalist or People Operations experience (manufacturing preferred) 
  • Strong background in employee relations and workforce support 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; PHR or SHRM-CP preferred 
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% (overnight)

Work Environment

  • Monday–Friday, typically 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM 
  • On-site in an optical lab/manufacturing setting
