DescriptionThe People and Culture EMR Training Specialist works closely with Monitoring and Information Technology to identify challenges in Electronic Medical Records usage and design targeted trainings to address those trends. As part of the People and Culture training team, this position develops and delivers engaging EMR training, manages completion tracking and documentation requirements, and integrates training activities into the agency's broader learning management system.
This position supports the agency's ability to deliver high-quality services by ensuring staff are equipped to use EMR systems effectively, accurately, and efficiently across programs.
Key Duties:
- Collaborate with IT and Monitoring to identify EMR usage challenges and design trainings to address them
- Design and develop EMR training curricula and materials that translate technical concepts into accessible, actionable content for field staff
- Lead the EMR training component of new employee orientation and ensure timely completion
- Facilitate training sessions for small and large groups using varied instructional methods
- Administer the agency's learning management system, including course assignments, content uploads, and technical troubleshooting
- Monitor training completion rates, generate compliance reports, and send deadline reminders to staff and supervisors
- Coordinate training logistics including scheduling, venue securing, registration, and coordination with external trainers
QualificationsRequired Knowledge & Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in Health Administration, Public Health, or a related field, with 3 or more years of experience using and optimizing EMR systems
- Experience with learning management systems, with Relias strongly preferred, and the ability to generate routine and ad hoc reports for compliance and program monitoring
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical language into clear, actionable training content for diverse audiences across a variety of professional roles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, with strong organizational skills and sound judgment in problem-solving
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey difficult or unwelcome information with courtesy, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
