Administrative & Engagement Specialist
Position Summary
This role goes beyond traditional administrative support by helping keep leadership aligned, communication clear, and employee engagement strong across the organization.
Supports the Leatherman Family, leadership, and employees by managing day-to-day administrative functions, ensuring clear communication and contributing to a positive employee experience across the organization.
Works closely with leadership to keep priorities organized, meetings running smoothly, and communication clear and consistent. Gathers employee feedback and helps turn that into actions that support engagement and culture.
Essential Functions
Leadership Communication & Coordination
- Serve as a trusted partner to the Leatherman family owners.
- Exercise discretion in handling confidential information and sensitive topics.
- Coordinate meetings such as board updates, leadership offsites, and company communication sessions.
- Prepare and manage meeting logistics for the leadership, including agendas, presentations, minutes, and follow-ups.
- Partner with HR on internal messaging and employee engagement initiatives.
- Draft letters, speeches, and recognition communications that reflect company voice and values.
Project & Event Leadership
- Support cross-functional projects that elevate company culture and employee experience.
- Plan events including leadership offsites, all-employee meetings, and community engagement events.
- Build and maintain project schedules, coordinate resources, and ensure timely delivery of outcomes.
Internal & External Communications
- Develop, edit, and distribute internal communications such as newsletters, executive updates, and employee announcements.
- Help ensure communication is clear and consistent across the organization.
- Partner with key departments to ensure company positioning aligns across internal and external channels.
Culture Representation
- Uphold Leatherman’s values through professionalism, positivity, and integrity in every interaction.
- Foster trust, collaboration, and alignment across leadership teams and departments.
- Act as a visible ambassador for the leadership, promoting engagement and pride in Leatherman’s purpose.
Talent & HR Support (as needed)
- Support talent processes including interview coordination and candidate experience.
- Partner with HR supporting onboarding, engagement, and internal programs.
- Provide coordination support for key talent initiatives.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience providing leadership support.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AI.
- Exceptional written communication.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally as needed.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently sits; talks and hears; uses hands to finger, handle, grasp, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally stands and walks; climbs; twists, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 5 lbs., and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Working Conditions/Physical Hazards
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment, and is occasionally exposed to production environment. Work area is well lit and air conditioned.
All employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.
