About the Role:

Scalable Capital is looking for a Team Lead People Operations in Munich. This position offers the opportunity to lead a an HR operations team while staying hands-on with day-to-day HR processes. The role combines people management, operational HR, and strategic process improvement in a dynamic, regulated, and fast-paced environment.

Your Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead and develop a People Operations team of six direct reports (HR Managers and working students).
  • Foster collaboration, motivation, and a solution-oriented approach.
  • Report directly to the CHRO.

Operational HR

  • Oversee the full employee lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, contracts, system updates, personnel restructuring).
  • Prepare pre-payroll (payroll itself managed by an external provider).
  • Act as point of contact for employee queries, benefits, and employment documentation.
  • Collaborate with IT (onboarding/hardware) and Compliance (audits).

Quality, Compliance & Reporting

  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with German labor law and internal standards (legal team support provided).
  • Prepare HR reports and provide data-driven insights.

Process Improvement & Projects

  • Drive process optimization and automation across HR workflows.
  • Contribute to strategic HR projects to increase efficiency and reduce administrative workload.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and IT.
  • Ensure smooth communication with internal stakeholders and external service providers.


Requirements

  • Completed studies in HR management, business administration, psychology, or a related field.
  • Several years of operational HR experience, plus 1–2 years of leadership experience.
  • Strong understanding of HR processes and German labor law.
  • Experience with HR systems (Personio, DocuSign preferred).
  • Ideally: experience in multicountry setups, matrix organizations, or regulated industries.
  • Structured, detail-oriented, and hands-on approach.
  • Fluent in German and English.
