Introduction

An Agritalent client, a leading agribusiness, seeks a Talent Development Specialist for executing the talent development strategy of the Group. The TDS will develop and implement effective strategies to identify and retain skilled individuals who align with the company's values and objectives, as well as manage and nurture talent within the organization to ensure long-term success and employee satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Secure an effective role brief and create a bespoke development strategy across various platforms.
  • Qualify employees thoroughly against role specifications to assess fit, maximizing development against future roles.
  • Assess employees’ commitment, handle objections and concerns, and present a shortlist of qualified and relevant employees to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in trackers and systems, while planning and prioritizing roles to meet and exceed deadlines and SLA agreements.
  • Provide a world-class experience to employees, and proactively offer updates and options to the team and the wider business.
  • Work alongside business leadership to identify workforce requirements.
  • Develop and drive a world-class mentorship program.
  • Assist departmental heads and employees with the development of PDPs for identified successors and high-potential employees.
  • Build, develop, and maintain succession plans for each department within the Group.
  • Create awareness of career-pathing options for employees and assist with mapping possible career paths as part of the PDP.
  • Design, implement, and drive a Graduate program for scarce skills identified in collaboration with Recruitment and HODs.
  • Develop a retention strategy to ensure the Group retains its top talent (internal talent pipeline)
  • Brand awareness to attract the best talent and build an external talent pipeline
  • Maintain talent pipelines through relationship building with various institutions and collaboration with the Human Capital Team.

Qualifications:

  • Industrial Psychology Hons. Degree (Master’s degree a benefit)

Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years of specialist experience in Talent Retention and Talent Development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of talent management practices.
