The Role

We have an outstanding, talented team that we want to support in their career goals. A large part of this is a focus on developing a leadership development programme to equip our managers with the skills and knowledge they need to get the most out of our amazing team.

If you have experience in designing and delivering leadership development programmes and are passionate about working with different people to help move the business forward, this could be the role for you.  You will be a dedicated learning and development professional with the autonomy to build a suite of training programmes to support our leaders.  As part of the People Team, you will support a wide range of teams across the entire Lottomart business.  There is an opportunity to make a genuine impact with us, and we are excited to see our next Talent Development Specialist build their career with us!

This has been scoped as a part-time role, which will report to the Head of People.

Responsibilities

Talent Development

  • Work with leaders to conduct skills gaps analysis to determine training needs across the business
  • Design and deliver a suite of engaging leadership training to support new and existing managers in building up their leadership abilities
  • Support departmental leaders in building career paths to ensure that high performers are supported through their career development
  • Collaborate on the design and development of a competency framework for Lottomart
  • Using feedback, design and deliver adhoc training to help bridge knowledge gaps which may come up
  • Support formal review/appraisal processes
  • Work with the wider People Team and senior leadership to foster and embed a culture of continuous learning

Training Administration

  • Ensure that our learning management system is updated annually in line with our training calendar
  • Work with subject matter experts in the business to upload any new training courses for roll-out to the team
  • Keep training records up to date in our HRIS
  • Seek feedback from delegates to measure the effectiveness of training interventions

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

This role requires someone to demonstrate the attributes and experience shown below, which we would value over formal qualifications.  However, while not essential, any courses completed or qualifications attained which relate to the People profession, such as a CIPD qualification, will demonstrate your commitment to this career path and will provide a basis of knowledge for you to succeed.

Experience

You should:

  • Be able to bring experience from a talent development role.  Ideally, your experience will demonstrate that you have designed and delivered training programmes specific to leadership competencies.
  • Have an advanced knowledge of tools that support taught learning, such as Google Slides/PowerPoint, Prezi or other tools.
  • Be proficient with tech like JIRA and Google & Microsoft productivity tools. A lot of what we do is technology-driven and we constantly look to leverage new developments to help improve everything. Having admin knowledge of a learning management system would be a bonus!
  • Be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Bring a developmental mindset.  The successful person will be relied on to build, and continually improve, our leadership development initiatives, so being able to spot opportunities for improvement and apply new ways of thinking will aid success in this role.

Personal Characteristics

You should:

  • Clearly stating the obvious: be a people person! This role depends on a high degree of finesse, empathy, resilience, and awareness.
  • Bring energy, enthusiasm, and passion to your job. As part of the People function, you are a brand ambassador and staff will refer to the example you set for the business, and more broadly, the team.
  • Be an expert communicator in both written and verbal mediums. This role includes direct interaction with our team to build on skills gaps, so the ability to communicate concisely is imperative.
  • Be able to handle sensitive information with discretion and ensure confidentiality at all times.
  • Be very organised. There are many moving parts with this role, so someone who can bring order and structured thought is important.
  • Be flexible with shifting priorities and timelines; one of our strengths is responding to new opportunities quickly.
  • Speak English fluently. Having other languages and exposure to many different cultures will be beneficial for building rapport with an inclusive team.
