Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Talent Development Manager is to oversee the organization's learning and development and performance management programs.  This position is responsible for developing and implementing learning and development strategies and performance and talent management programs.  The Talent and Development Manager will work closely with leadership to align strategies with organizational goals and initiatives.  They will also track the impact of programs, provide consultation on employee relations, and facilitate succession planning.

 

Essential Duties

  • Oversees the development, implementation, and facilitation of talent development and talent management programs across the organization to ensure available resources for employees to enhance their skills and promote career growth.
  • Conducts needs assessments to determine appropriate training and development needs to improve employee performance to ensure company goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Designs and develops training, talent development, and performance management tools such as audio-visual materials, lesson plans, one-on-one, and review guides.
  • Oversees the maintenance and execution of the performance management program, including performance reviews, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans, and makes necessary adjustments to ensure effectiveness.
  • Facilitates the organization's succession planning process and analyzes data to develop a data-driven leadership development plan for employees.
  • Assesses current leadership development programs and determines areas for improvement and gaps in the offerings and processes.
  • Collaborates with leaders to discuss employee performance and behaviors to determine the training and competencies necessary for employees to perform optimally.
  • Provides consultation to management regarding performance management and employee relations, including employee recognition, counseling, conflict resolution, and team building to ensure the effectiveness of programs implemented.
  • Stays abreast of trends in learning and development, talent management, performance management, related industry trends, new technology, and approaches and applies this knowledge to implemented programs.
  • Leverages talent analytics to assess and track the impact of programs.

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or related field
  • 5 – 7 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on designing and implementing talent development and/or talent management programs 
  • Experience designing and implementing organizational-wide programs such as employee and leadership training programs, succession planning, performance management, and employee relations
  • Experience facilitating training programs
  • Knowledge of employment law, employee relations management, compliance investigations, and principles of talent development
  • Knowledge of LMS and HRIS systems, preferably ADP 10.1
  • Intermediate experience utilizing computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint
  • Adept with multiple multimedia tools and methods
  • Capable of evaluating and researching effective training methods
  • Strong conflict resolution skills with the ability to apply logic to complex situations
  • Strong change management and organizational development skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidential information, possessing a high level of professionalism and exercise discretion
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and high-volume work environment.
  • Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to facilitate trainings in small and large groups, present information, and train managers on how to conduct employee training sessions

Preferred

  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM – CP, or SHRM - SCP certification
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) certification
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish
