Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and reliable individual to join our team as a Part-Time Front Desk Specialist.
 
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, faculty,  and staff providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth daily operations at the front desk. Responsibilities include greeting guests, answering phone calls, managing appointments, handling inquiries, and performing light administrative tasks. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

This is a morning shift and hours are flexible from 8:00 am to 11:30 am Monday- Friday.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities & Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Strong customer service skills, with a focus on serving faculty, staff, and the public.
  • Demonstrate strong initiative, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Attention to details, thoroughness and accuracy
  • Knowledge and practical use of Microsoft office production (Work, Excel and Outlook).

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to follow instructions and company policies.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including, computers (including several computer programs), fax, copier, multi-line phone system. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
  • Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.

Minimum qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • Prior customer service or front desk experience

  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email, Microsoft Office, or scheduling software

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Ability to multitask and stay organized

  • Dependable and punctual

Preferred Qualifications

Human Resources and/or Higher education work experience.
