What is Fizz

Fizz is a social app that allows students to connect with their campus. Each Fizz community has a private and moderated feed of anonymous posts, authored by verified students, providing the most entertaining, relatable, and interesting conversations about student life.

Students can post questions, memes, polls, and chat with other verified students while maintaining control over their identity and privacy. Fizz communities prioritize safety, authenticity, and inclusion through community-based moderation.

Founded by two Stanford dropouts, Fizz is currently expanding to colleges across the US with a mission to redefine the “social network” in a time when legacy platforms lack authenticity and are filled with curated highlight reels.

What we’ve done

We first launched Fizz at Stanford in July 2021 and have since seen >95% of undergraduates join the app, half of which use Fizz every day. Since then, we have raised over $41 million from NEA, Owl Ventures, and Lightspeed, built a rock-solid engineering team with decades of experience at top tech companies, and expanded Fizz to be the dominant community platform at 400+ colleges.

Where we’re going

Our vision for Fizz is to develop the Fizz product to become the preferred community platform for Gen-Z, both while students are in college and beyond. Our team prioritizes ownership, swift adaptability, and rapid design iterations driven by real user feedback.

About the Role

We have several openings for Social Media Recruiter Interns on our Growth team! The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is outgoing and organized. You’ll have an opportunity to gain exposure to a social media startup environment!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the social media team to help source qualified candidates to hire campus ambassadors

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting process including screening, interviewing, and feedback

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand hiring needs, role requirements, and team dynamics

  • Coordinate interview logistics and ensure a smooth process for both candidates and interviewers

Qualifications

  • Must be a current college student, age 18+, with a solid understanding of the Fizz product

  • Strong knowledge of Instagram and general social media etiquette

  • Excellent written communication and public speaking skills

  • Background in Marketing or Communications is appreciated but not required

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Availability to work 15 hours per week in 2 hour periods
