Introduction

Responsible for attracting, assessing and hiring high quality talent to meet the company's staffing needs. Leveraging an Industrial Psychology background, the incumbent will apply scientifically validated recruitment, assessment and selection methodologies to identify candidates who best fit the culture, values and job requirements of the company

Duties & Responsibilities

Recruitment and Talent Acquisition

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements
  • Prepare and publish job advertisements
  • Source candidates
  • Build and maintain a talent pipeline for current and future vacancies
  • Conduct competency based interviews and behavioral assessments
  • Manage process from requisition to onboarding

 

Psychometric Assessment and Selection

  • Administer and interpret psychometric assessments 
  • Conduct competency profiling and job analysys
  • Evaluate candidates using structured interview techniques and assessment tools
  • Prepare selection reports and recommendations for hiring managers
  • Ensure recruitment decisions are objective, fair and evidence based

 

Industrial Psychology Support

  • Assist with workforce planning and talent mapping
  • Support succession planning initiatives, contribute to employee engagement and retention initiatives
  • Analyse recruitment metrics

 

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure recruitment practices comply with LRA, BCEA, EEA and POPIA acts
  • Promote diversity, equity and inclusion in recruitment processes

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers
  • Liaie with external recruitment agencies and assessment providers

 

Reporting and Administration

  • Maintain accurate recruitment records and applicant tracking systems
  • Prepare recruitment reports including, time to fill, cost per hire,quality of hire, source effectiveness, diversity metrics
  • Ensure all recruitment documentation is complete and audit ready

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial psychology, Human Resource Management or related field
  • Registration with Health Professions Council of SA (HPCSA) as a Registered Councellor or Psychometrist - psycometric testing forms part of the role
  • Additional recruitment or talent acquisition certifications are advantageous

 

  • 3 to 5 years experience in recruitment or talent acquisition
  • Exp in conducting competency-based interviews
  • Exp in administering or coordinating psychometric assessments
  • Exp using Applicat Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Knowledge of SA labour legislation and recruitment best practices
