Description

An employee in this position will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment related to recruitment activities. The Recruitment Marketing Specialist will build and enhance the Department’s brand through strategic messaging and content creation.  This position will report directly to the Executive Director of Human Resources.  Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate are necessary.  


Duty Hours: 20-25 hours per week

Position will remain open until filled.

Examples of Duties

  • Design and execute recruitment marketing campaigns to attract high-quality talent.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to incorporate specific needs into messaging and content creation.
  • Develop and refine personalized content across social media platforms to engage potential candidates and nurture relationships throughout the recruitment process.
  • Collaborate with recruiters to identify difficult-to-fill positions and optimize outreach strategies to engage passive and active talent.
  • Develop recruitment materials, including flyers, social media posts, and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


  • Effective time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using data to analyze marketing strategies, optimize campaigns, and drive decisions.
  • Expert with content creation across multiple social media platforms to engage target audiences.
  • Familiarization with recruitment marketing strategies to reach a broad range of the target market.


Training and Experience:


  • Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or similar is preferred.  
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with managing recruitment marketing strategies to promote employer brand and attract high-performing talent is preferred.


Special Requirements:


  • An employee in this job will receive a Department cell phone and laptop.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.

Additional Information

CITIZENSHIP:  Citizen of the United States or valid work permit, and apply for citizenship when eligible.
AGE LIMITS:  Eighteen (18) years of age at the time of appointment.
EDUCATION:  Educational requirements and skills will be determined by the position classification.

TATTOO POLICY:  Tattoos which may be visible in a short sleeve uniform will be considered by the Chief of Police on a case-by-case basis. Imagery which may be deemed inappropriate or offensive in nature shall be considered grounds for disqualification. Applicants will be required to provide a photograph and explanation to provide context of any visible tattoos.
ARREST: Must be free from conviction of a felony or a Class "A" misdemeanor.
MILITARY:  Must not have a "Dishonorable" discharge or "Bad Conduct" discharge if having served in the military. All "Other Than Honorable" discharges will be reviewed on an individual basis.

Under the regulations of the Police Department, all appointments to the St. Louis County Police Department are made on the basis of a continuously open, competitive hiring process conducted under the supervision of the Personnel Services Unit.  Each applicant must successfully complete each stage of the selection process before becoming eligible to proceed to the next step.
