Top-tier venture capital firm partnering with industry-defining companies is looking for a People Operations & Strategy to support their VP of People. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, intellectually curious team where you'll be a crucial part in building the people function within the organization! In this role, you'll manage onboarding/offboarding, optimize core people processes, support HR operations, act as a trusted partner to managers and employees, and execute people-focused programs. You'll also work closely with the VP of People to develop a sophisticated People function from the ground up, building bespoke programs and processes that enhance organizational effectiveness and employee experience. Someone with exceptional organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a fascination with using technology to build efficient systems. This is a hybrid role, Monday through Thursday, based in New York in SoHo. 140-160K+ DOE + health benefits, 401k with matching, flexible PTO, lunch stipend, annual team trips, and gym in the office!

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee efficient and consistent onboarding and offboarding experiences for employees.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize key people processes and workflows, ensuring employees receive reliable support.
  • Maintain compliance with policies and regulations by building requirements directly into processes.
  • Support daily HR operations, keeping employee information accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare timely reports and insights for leadership teams, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Partner with managers as a trusted resource, offering guidance on structure, team effectiveness, performance, and feedback.
  • Serve as a thought partner and source of support for employees. Champion the employee perspective on leadership-driven initiatives and ensure that we always have a solid understanding of organizational strengths and opportunities.
  • Handle employee relations issues, providing first-line support on conflicts, performance challenges, and investigations.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and HR functions to resolve needs efficiently.
  • Assist in delivering people-focused programs such as performance reviews, talent assessment, leadership development, and training programs.
  • Support workforce planning through succession strategies, career growth frameworks, employee recognition initiatives, and retention.
  • Use data and analytics to identify trends, evaluate programs, and offer recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop resources and communications that engage both leadership and employees, enhancing the overall employee experience.
  • Contribute to organizational improvement initiatives, providing operational and logistical support. 

Qualifications:

  • 4-7+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, or similar functions, in a dynamic, high-growth environment, ideally in startups, tech, or financial services.
  • Proven track record of driving projects from start to finish with strong execution skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to safeguard sensitive information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective across multiple levels of the organization.
  • An analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with frequent changes and competing priorities.
  • Tech-savvy. Skilled in using technology and automation tools to improve efficiency and scalability in HR functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; professional HR certifications are an advantage.
