Thomas Eye Group is looking for a highly motivated People Operations Specialist to join our growing HR team.

As a People Operations Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

People Support & Employee Relations

  • Act as a trusted partner to employees and managers, providing support on HR policies, employee coaching, performance conversations, and conflict resolution
  • Investigate employee concerns, grievances, or sensitive matters while ensuring compliance with all federal and state laws
  • Promote a positive work culture by supporting engagement, recognition, and retention efforts

Process Management & Compliance

  • Maintain and enforce HR policies, procedures, and standards across multiple locations
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws (FMLA, ADA, EEOC, FLSA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Support and administer safety, workers compensation, and occupational health programs
  • Liaise with external agencies such as the Department of Labor and Workers' Compensation Board

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Manage a smooth onboarding experience from offer letter to Day 1 orientation
  • Conduct exit interviews, track trends, and offer recommendations to improve retention
  • Ensure all new hire documentation and employment eligibility requirements are met

HRIS & Data Management

  • Maintain employee records and HRIS systems with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Run reports, analyze trends, and present insights on workforce planning, turnover, or training effectiveness
  • Collaborate with payroll and benefits to support compensation administration and reporting

Learning & Development

  • Coordinate training and development programs, including new hire orientation, compliance trainings, and leadership development
  • Support managers in performance review processes, coaching, and succession planning
  • Assist with the creation of employee resources and tools (handbooks, guides, manuals, etc.)

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of progressive HR experience, with emphasis on employee relations, compliance, and people operations
  • Healthcare or multi-site experience is a plus

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Professional, approachable, and solution-oriented demeanor
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail, with strong project management and organizational skills
  • Confident working independently and collaboratively across departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (Paycom experience a plus)
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity
