Ampersand Therapy is seeking a driven People Operations Specialist to support employee onboarding, compliance, and ongoing HR operations. This is a full-time, salaried position.
Ampersand Therapy is a women- and therapist-led education staffing company with a passion for supporting students, school districts, and school professionals. The People Operations Specialist plays a key role in ensuring a smooth and compliant experience for both new hires and current employees. This position is responsible for coordinating onboarding requirements, maintaining employee records and systems, and supporting core HR processes.
Responsibilities:
HR & Operations
- Oversee timekeeping processes and issue resolution
- Manage reimbursement and expense processes, including approvals and employee support
- Provide employee support triage and respond to operational and HR-related inquiries
- Verify professional licenses and track pending and expiring licenses
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with onboarding and employment requirements
Onboarding & New Hire Experience
- Coordinate onboarding requirements, including district and state-specific requirements (e.g., Faith's Law, district level paperwork, fingerprinting, and drug screenings)
- Manage onboarding workflows and ensure timely completion of onboarding steps
- Prepare and send offer letters, assignment confirmations, and initial welcome communications
- Serve as a point of contact for onboarding updates and employment status changes
Qualifications:
- Experience: School-based professional experience required (e.g., teacher, SLP, or related role); prior HR or administrative experience is a plus
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Gmail, Sheets) and comfort learning new systems; experience with HRIS/HCM systems preferred
- Organization: Strong organizational abilities with excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, remote environment
