Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in our clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. What will you do as a People Operations Manager? 

  • As a People Operations Manager in the People Operations (POps) department, you will oversee the daily operations of the People Operations department, including benefits, employee relations, compliance, workers' compensation, performance management, and talent acquisition 
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Partner with the Chief People Officer on projects and initiatives, including the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Effectively lead and grow your People Operations direct reports by providing guidance, making decisions, delegating and removing obstacles.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the human resources field  
  • Minimum of 2 years managing multiple functions of People Operations preferred
  • HR Certification PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred 
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet any credentialing, licensing, and privileging standards as it pertains to the department you are in. 
  • All potential job candidates must pass a drug screening test, and an extensive background check is required.
