Job description

We are looking for an experienced People Operations Manager to join our dynamic, agile tech/software development organization. In this role, you will not only manage but actively shape and optimize our people operations at the process and system level, ensuring they enable efficient, agile collaboration while being data driven.

People operations & operational processes (core focus) 

  • Full ownership and continuous, data & cycle-oriented optimization of the entire employee lifecycle processes 

  • Design, documentation, and ongoing improvement of key people processes 

  • Analysis of people data, identification of trends, generation of insights and concrete recommendations for leaders 

  • Definition, tracking, and support of KPIs, metrics, and regular review mechanisms 

  • Integration of AI tools and digital solutions into people processes  

  • Leading change management initiatives in small, human-focused steps 

Performance & competency framework 

  • Transforming the performance evaluation process into a data-driven and objective system 

  • Continuous maintenance and updating of the skill matrix 

  • Proactive, data-based identification of skill gaps and retention risks with actionable proposals to leaders 

  • Tracking of individual development plans and skill trends (identifying hard & soft skill training needs) 

Stakeholder & cross-functional collaboration 

  • Proactive identification, prioritization, and resolution of organizational and cross-domain collaboration challenges 

  • Harmonization of cross-domain people processes (e.g. unified feedback mechanisms, standardized competency evaluation frameworks) 

  • Continuous measurement and improvement of collaboration quality across teams and domains 

Agile & development-supporting activities 

  • Strengthening the people side of agile practices  

  • Supporting agile metrics with a people lens 

  • Supporting leadership development programs, tools, and education content 

Continuous improvement & employee experience 

  • Tracking and supporting employee development (especially soft skills): coaching, training support, skill development initiatives 

  • Proactive proposals for improving organizational functioning  

  • Measuring and optimizing employee experience: tracking satisfaction trends, suggesting actions to strengthen organizational culture 

Job requirements

Experience 

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in people operations, process improvement, performance management, or similar roles 

  • Proven track record in process optimization and/or digitalization projects 

  • Experience working in an agile environment  

  • Strong daily practice in people/analytics and data-driven decision making 

  • Experience in tech/software development/scale-up environments is a strong advantage

Skills & competencies 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: clear, empathetic, and professional interaction with employees, leaders, and teams at all levels 

  • High emotional intelligence and people orientation: ability to understand individual and team dynamics, build psychological safety, and foster trust 

  • Excellent process design, visualization, and documentation skills 

  • Strong analytical mindset (quickly turning people data into usable insights) 

  • Change leadership experience and stakeholder management in flat organizations 

  • Openness to AI and digital tools; practical usage experience is a plus 

  • Very good command of English (written & spoken), native-level Hungarian
