About the role - Mō te turanga mahi
This role offers variety, challenge, and the chance to broaden and deepen your generalist HR experience within a small People Operations team that sits in the Legal, Governance and People Operations team (Te Tari Whaimana Ohu Kumanu) at AMP in NZ. It is a true generalist role offering development and exposure. You will provide operational guidance, advice, and support across the business to our managers, employees and our People team. Working with managers and employees, you will triage queries and respond to everyday people issues as well as coaching and guiding managers along the full HR generalist spectrum. This includes people comms and posts, policy drafting and interpretation, drafting of general employment documentation, ER, organisational change, engagement, talent, performance, learning and development, DEI, recruitment and health & safety. Working closely with a very experienced People Operations Lead, you will also provide key support to cyclical company-wide People initiatives and projects.
What you’ll need to succeed - Ngā wahanga matua o te turanga
This role would best suit a person who can show initiative, has high attention to detail and is proactive and collaborative in their working style. We are looking for someone ideally with a minimum of 3 years’ broad experience in an HR generalist role. Experience in an HR Shared Services team would be useful, however what is most important is a strong customer focused mindset, excellent verbal and written skills, high attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a drive to make things happen and improve service delivery. An ability to form relationships at all levels to enable you to partner successfully with colleagues across the business is essential. It is also key that you have a sound working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and that you are comfortable with HR systems and using an HRIS.
