This is more than a traditional HR role. You’ll work closely with business owners and leaders to navigate day-to-day people challenges, while helping deliver the HR support that keeps their organizations running smoothly.
You’ll partner closely with the HR Manager, Advisory Services to support client work, respond to evolving needs, and contribute to a high standard of service across engagements. Your ability to build relationships, stay organized, and follow through will play a key role in how our clients experience HR as part of their business.

What You’ll Do
HR Advisory & Administration
Address ad-hoc inquiries from HR advisory clients as they relate to performance concerns, conflict resolution, employee life-cycle transactions, compliance, benefits, and leaves, and more
Update and manage data and employee records in a variety of HRIS platforms
Provide HR administration support for the Forward Level team
Assist in the development and communication of internal employee policies and guidelines
Build positive, professional relationships with leaders and teams
Provide guidance on routine employee relations, performance, and HR process questions
Support leaders in navigating people-related challenges with practical, timely advice
Escalate complex, sensitive, or high-risk situations to the HR Manager, Advisory Services
Ongoing HR Support & Administration
Complete projects and lead initiatives that support the HR strategies of our clients across areas such as compensation, benefits, HRIS, policy development, training, and performance management
Support the design and implementation of practical HR programs for growing organizations (e.g., onboarding, performance management, employee engagement)
Provide guidance and coaching to business owners and leaders on people management, leadership development, and organizational change
Lead smaller clients as their go-to HR partner, providing advice, guidance, budget updates, and driving end-to-end projects
Ensure client engagements are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high-quality standard
Help establish compliant HR practices and stay current on Alberta and federal employment standards
Collaborate with the FL Marketing team on Human Experience (HX) initiatives such as employee satisfaction surveys, employer branding, and EVP development
Develop strong client relationships and a deep understanding of their business, industry, and goals
Approach client work with both curiosity and follow-through, addressing needs as they arise and as they evolve
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities across clients and share insights with the HR Manager
Manage and prioritize competing client needs in a fast-paced, multi-client environment
Maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
What You Bring
A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required
CPHR designation (or eligibility) preferred
3–5 years of progressive, hands-on HR experience
1–2 years experience in an advisory or client-facing role
A proven ability to understand client needs and connect them to effective people strategies that create measurable impact
Comfortable working across various HR systems and adapting to different client tools and environments
Experience building relationships, leading conversations, and delivering results within a professional services or business advisory environment
Strong working knowledge of Alberta Employment Standards, Occupational Health & Safety, Human Rights legislation, and current HR best practices
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain complex HR matters in a clear, accessible, and practical way
A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client sites within Calgary, as needed
