People and Culture Business Partner will act as a business partner to the Momofuku restaurants. The role works with our Restaurant Operations, Regional and Home Base teams to drive our People and Culture and Operational initiatives. This position reports to the VP of People and Culture  and will work alongside the  team in all aspects of the  function, including talent attraction, talent management, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, compliance, compensation and benefits, and organizational culture. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry and a strong understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in this field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Attraction/Onboarding

  • In partnership with the regional team and operational teams, oversee the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes to ensure the attraction and retention of talent across all levels of the organization
  • Sourcing strategy development and execution
  • Intake on role and candidate requirements, performing initial screens and presenting candidates to the business for consideration.
  • Support of Open Calls or critical hourly team member recruitment as well
  • Support delivery of best in class induction/onboarding in conjunction with team and operational leadership/direct manager

Talent Management

  • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, addressing employee concerns, facilitating conflict resolution, and promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure the organization complies with all applicable labor laws, health and safety regulations, and internal policies
  • Manage team member-related risks and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Support employee development, provide constructive feedback, and encourage high performance across the organization on an ongoing basis
  • Assist team with delivering training programs that enhance team member skills, promote leadership development, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Keep yourself up to date on industry compensation and benefits trends to ensure top candidates are attracted and retained while aligning with the company's financial objectives
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting employee engagement, supporting change management initiatives, and driving organizational effectiveness.
  • Work to develop innovative, creative guidelines and standards to ensure effective, fair, + consistent treatment of our teams across Momofuku
  • Participates and supports in the Performance Management and Succession Planning Process
  • Support on-going projects and initiatives
  • Adhere to the philosophy of continuous improvement and continually evaluate all People processes, systems, and initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is preferred
  • At least 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the hospitality or restaurant industry
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and HR best practices specific to the restaurant or hospitality sector
  • Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and training and development
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in HR metrics and data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships across all levels of an organization
  • A proven track record of demonstrating strong leadership qualities, capable of fostering a positive and collaborative environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the hospitality or restaurant industry
  • Experiences working with HRIS system, specifically Paycom
  • Experience with New York, California and Nevada labor laws, payroll regulations and practices

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. Pay Scale Metrics

Momofuku People and Culture Business Partner is employed at Momofuku within a pay band of one hundred ten thousand dollars to one hundred thirty thousand dollars ($110,000 to $130,000) per year. The metrics for each individual pay is as follows: If a candidate meets all of the Required Qualifications, he/she/they are considered qualified for the position and eligible to receive a rate of one hundred ten thousand dollars ($110,000) per year.

For each Preferred Qualification the candidate meets, he/she/they are eligible for an additional one thousand dollars ($4,000) per year.
