The Position

As we transition away from our PEO and expand our internal capabilities, we’re seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Payroll & People Operations Specialist to support critical HR administrative functions. This person will manage payroll processing, leave tracking, employee data management, and general HR and benefits operations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about building scalable, employee-centric systems.

What you will do:

Payroll & HRIS Administration

  • Own the day-to-day administration of payroll processes for U.S. employees, and assist with global payroll coordination across multiple countries
  • Partner with our payroll provider (e.g., ADP) and Finance to ensure accurate, timely payroll processing, including base pay, bonuses, equity, and off-cycle payments
  • Support global payroll vendor relationships and collaborate with local partners to ensure regional compliance and accuracy
  • Maintain and audit accurate employee data across HRIS and payroll systems; proactively identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Reconcile benefit deductions, wage garnishments, and ensure compliance with statutory reporting and tax filings
  • Assist with payroll-related year-end activities including W-2s, 1099s, and equivalent global documentation

Leave & Compliance Support

  • Administer leave programs (FMLA, parental leave, PTO, etc.) across U.S. and global locations
  • Track and document leave requests and coordinate with managers and legal, as needed
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws during leave administration
  • Maintain detailed records and support documentation for internal audits and external reporting

HR Administration & Employee Experience

  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to payroll, time off, and HR policies
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding logistics from a systems and documentation perspective
  • Help standardize documentation and HR processes during our internal transition
  • Support the HR team with compliance audits, immigration support, and document collection

Process Improvement & Systems Support

  • Identify opportunities to streamline internal HR workflows as we scale
  • Assist with the integration of systems related to time tracking, benefits, and compensation
  • Provide administrative support for HR projects and initiatives (e.g., Open Enrollment, audits)



What you will bring to the role:

  • 3- 6 years of experience in HR operations, US & Global payroll coordination, or People team support
  • Hands-on experience with U.S. payroll processing; exposure to or coordination of international payroll strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., BambooHR, ADP Workforce Now, or equivalents)
  • Understanding of employment law and leave compliance (U.S. required, global exposure a plus)
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High level of integrity and discretion with confidential information



Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing transitions from a PEO to in-house payroll and HR systems
  • Prior experience supporting a global or distributed workforce, including managing payroll or compliance through international vendors
  • Knowledge of global payroll tax compliance, statutory reporting requirements, or in-country labor standards
  • Familiarity with benefits administration or vendor management across multiple regions
