Introduction

As the leading medical recruitment agency in South Africa, our client has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator based in Bryanston, South Africa.
The Payroll Administrator is to deliver accurate and timely processing of the hospital's payroll in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and organisational policies.
The role is responsible for maintaining payroll records, addressing payroll-related inquiries, and supporting the efficient operation of the HR and finance departments.
The Payroll Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring employee satisfaction by managing compensation processes with precision and confidentiality

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile monthly and weekly payrolls, ensuring accurate calculation of salaries, overtime, benefits, and deductions.
  • Prepare and distribute payslips and ensure accurate submission of statutory payments (e.g., PAYE, UIF, and SDL).
  • Manage garnishee orders, advances, and leave balances.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Generate and submit reports to management, auditors, and statutory bodies as required.
  • Assist in year-end payroll procedures, including tax year reconciliations and issuing IRP5 certificates.
  • Provide assistance to employees regarding payroll queries, explaining calculations and deductions.
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee data
  • Update and maintain payroll systems with current employee details, salary adjustments, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with IT and software vendors to resolve technical issues and implement system enhancements.
  • Liaise with HR for accurate processing of new hires, terminations, promotions, and other employee status changes.
  • Support the Finance department with payroll cost allocations, budget tracking, and audits.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • MUST HAVE experience in Kronos -specifically, the newest version, UKG Prorade
  • Grade12 
  • Diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in the healthcare sector or hospital environment.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar).
  • Knowledge of South African labour laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles.
