The Position 

We are seeking an experienced People and Culture Manager to manage
our
day-to-day HR functions and provide guidance for our HR needs. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Administration, this critical role will help oversee and balance our cultural needs and administer our HR policies and procedures. This position is principal People and Culture Manager to champion a healthy human resource culture, responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee experience.

communication, active listening, emotional intelligence, strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, ability to build trust, strategic thinking, strong administrative and organizational skills, diversity and inclusion awareness, experience with performance management, coaching and mentoring, and the capacity to foster a positive and engaging work environment.
 


Essential Responsibilities  

This position can be in-person or hybrid (i.e., requiring some in-person presence), subject to CreaTV’s telecommuting policies and ability to perform the duties as discussed herein, understanding that the duties referenced herein are not exhaustive and the individual may be required to perform additional or different duties based on business needs. 


Human Resources Essential Duties   

  • Advise and administer HR policies and procedures in coordination with Director of Finance & Administration. 
  • Manage benefits administration including health, dental, vision, life Insurance, in coordination with Director of Finance & Administration. 
  • Manage IRA/retirement plan administration in coordination with Director of Finance & Administration. 
  • Lead payroll management and implementation in coordination with team managers, supervisors, and Director of Finance & Administration. 
  • Oversee Bamboo HR system, including but not limited to, assisting with goal setting, updating materials, system workflow, and employee requests.  
  • Assist in employee review/performance management process in coordination with supervisors. 
  • Respond to HR inquiries from staff. 
  • Maintain onboarding and termination process. 
  • Organize HR electronic and paper files in accordance with federal, state, local laws and partner contracts and CreaTV policies. 
  • Support professional development goals for team members. 
  • Lead team building activities to support and reinforce a culture of inclusion and equity. 

 
Qualifications:
 

  • Strong team leadership and intra-team collaboration skills. 
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills. 
  • Alignment of key values and commitment to racial and social justice 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including but not limited to ability to communicate clearly and effectively with CreaTV staff as it relates to HR policies and procedures. 
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with staff and community in a positive and professional manner. 
  • Knowledge of community media, civic tech, public access, and nonprofit media field. 
  • Experience with nonprofit HR compliance and regulations. 
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft 365 tools. 
  • Ability to work creatively and flexibly in a team environment, operating autonomously under minimal supervision, but accepting direction, supervision, and guidance when appropriate. 

Other Requirements: 

  • Manual dexterity and coordination to operate small push buttons, keys and switches associated with electronic devices and computers. 
  • Proficiency in database use, mac office software, spreadsheet programs and desktop publishing. 
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends.  

Education/Experience: 

  • A minimum of two years’ mid-senior range HR management experience that reveals a broad knowledge and ability to apply principles, methods and techniques of HR management. 
  • Education preference: BA in a related field such as business, communications, human resources, or nonprofit administration 


The People and Culture Manager is a non-exempt, part-time position that is expected to be 15-20 hours a week. $39 - $44 an hour depending on experience. Most work takes place during Tuesday-Saturday business hours but may vary due to organizational needs with a hybrid schedule in place with this position requiring at least 50% of their time on site at our community center.
