The Role

We are looking for a Manager of People Operations to drive operational excellence throughout all stages of the employee lifecycle. In this hands-on role, you’ll lead a small team of passionate professionals while managing the benefits, systems, and programs that keep GitKraken’s global people operations running smoothly. This position is ideal for an emerging leader who thrives in an evolving environment and is dedicated to ensuring all GitKraken employees (or as we call them, Krakeneers) feel motivated, supported, and well-informed.


What You’ll Do

  • Execute company-wide programs like All-Hands meetings and quarterly OKRs
  • Manage benefit administration and serve as the main contact for employees, brokers, and vendors
  • Maintain BambooHR and ensure data accuracy across all functions
  • Manage handbook and policy updates to ensure compliance and clarity
  • Effectively manage employee relations issues with empathy, discretion, and consistency
  • Deliver relevant, timely, and accurate reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Launch and manage the annual performance review cycle
  • Manage compensation programs, including commissions, annual bonuses, and the merit cycle
  • Partner with finance on payroll processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage offboarding processes, including voluntary and involuntary terminations 
  • Manage onboarding processes to ensure a seamless transition for new hires and their teams
  • Directly oversee recruiting, office management, and IT


What You’ll Bring

  • 6+ years of progressive People Operations experience
  • 3+ years of management experience
  • Strong command of HRIS tools (BambooHR preferred)
  • Experience administering benefits programs, including renewals and open enrollment
  • Basic understanding of US employment law
  • Experience coordinating company-wide programs (i.e. OKRs, All-Hands, merit cycles, etc) 
  • Familiarity with employee relations best practices, liability, and compliance 
  • Experience managing employee handbooks, policy updates, and compliance tracking
  • Comfortable maintaining audit-ready records and supporting internal/external reporting
  • Proven ability to iterate on repeatable People Ops processes across the employee lifecycle
  • Skilled in balancing hands-on execution with process improvement and scalable documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including some public speaking (i.e. in All-Hands)
  • Proven track record of building trust and credibility across all levels of an organization
  • Strong ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment (bias to action)
  • High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive information

Location

This is a hybrid position based in Scottsdale, AZ. This role combines the flexibility of remote work with the benefits of meaningful in-person collaboration. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Scottsdale area.
