Description

Impact of the Role
Inclusion Professionals make a meaningful difference by strengthening inclusive practice across early childhood services. They support educators to remove barriers so all children, including those with additional needs, can participate fully in everyday learning. By building educator capability, fostering strong partnerships with families and professionals, and guiding services through inclusive planning, they contribute to more confident teams, more inclusive environments and improved outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build respectful and collaborative relationships with services, educators and leadership teams.
  • Work professionally with stakeholders including KU, Include Me, the Gowrie Inclusion Agency and other partner organisations.
  • Use the KU Inclusion Support Framework to assess service capacity and guide tailored support strategies.
  • Support services in reflective practice and continuous improvement through the development and review of Strategic Inclusion Plans (SIPs).
  • Educate, coach and mentor educators on inclusion and high-quality inclusive practices.
  • Develop innovative resources and facilitate activities that challenge thinking and strengthen inclusive approaches.
  • Assist services to review or develop inclusive philosophies, policies and practices.
  • Connect services with relevant information, resources and community organisations to enhance support for children and families.
  • Support educators to build strong partnerships with families and early intervention professionals.
  • Work alongside services to identify and remove barriers, promoting meaningful participation for all children.
  • Contribute to sustainable improvements in service quality and inclusive environments.
  • Respond to reasonable requests from the line manager and support organisational priorities as required.

Service Delivery Requirements

  • Work online or by phone to provide responsive support to services.
  • Travel within regional and rural areas as required to deliver face-to-face support and guidance.

Technology and Resources Provided

  • A laptop computer will be provided for work purposes.
  • A work mobile phone will be supplied to support communication needs.

About You
We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • University trained /Early Childhood Teacher or equivalent
  • Have experience working in inclusive services or early childhood or school-aged care settings
  • Understand inclusive practice, child development, and the National Quality Framework
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Can coach and guide educators through change and reflective practice
  • Hold valid compliance certificates (e.g. WWCC, Child Protection, First Aid etc.)

Christmas & New Year Closure
