DescriptionCandler County Hospital is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Director to lead all aspects of the Human Resources function. The HR Director serves as a member of the hospital's leadership team and is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support organizational goals while ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, healthcare regulations, and accreditation standards.
The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong healthcare HR experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to foster a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all Human Resources functions.
- Develop, implement, and administer HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Direct recruitment, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Manage employee relations, investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management.
- Oversee compensation, benefits administration, leave management, and Open Enrollment processes.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulatory agencies, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Lead employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers regarding employee performance, corrective action, and leadership development.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and monitor HR-related expenditures.
- Oversee HRIS administration, personnel records, and HR reporting.
- Coordinate leadership training, employee education, and organizational development initiatives.
- Participate in strategic planning, hospital leadership meetings, and committee assignments.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership regarding workforce planning and organizational effectiveness.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Previous management or director-level experience required.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, labor regulations, and healthcare compliance.
- Experience managing benefits, compensation, employee relations, recruitment, and performance management.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Paycom Human Capital Management (HCM) software, including payroll, HRIS, benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management, is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office

- Healthcare Human Resources certification (preferred but not required)
