Key Responsibilities
The Human Resource Director serves as the primary HR leader for the assigned business units,
reporting to the CHRO and translating enterprise HR strategy into effective local execution for a
warehouse-based business. Manages complex employee relations matters, ensures legal and
policy compliance, and coaches leaders on performance, engagement, and workforce issues.
Promotes consistent, fair, and compliant employee experience.
Implement HR strategies and initiatives aligning with the overall business strategy,
reviewing periodically for changes to meet business needs
Advise department Directors and Managers in company policy and legal responsibilities
related to managing personnel
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention of talent while promoting the brand as the
employer of choice
Respond to and support employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
maintaining a safe and compliant workplace while reviewing overall trends and making
recommendations for remedial action to leadership.
Maximize utilization of HRIS for self-service and communication to distribute information
and promote programs
Lead performance management and employee development programs tailored to each
department
Drives consistent adherence to enterprise performance management standards by guiding
leaders on goal setting, evaluations, and corrective action to ensure fairness, accountability,
and business alignment.
Advise on compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain talent in a competitive
labor market
Translates HR and workforce data such as turnover, safety, and talent acquisition metrics
into clear, data-driven recommendations for senior leaders to support proactive and
informed business decisions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws to include management
of workers’ compensation, OSHA and leave administration.
Leads benefits administration processes, including enrollments, communications, and issue
resolution, ensuring a positive employee experience while maintaining strong governance
and controls.
Partner with HR team across Produce One portfolio to ensure consistent execution of HR
strategy and to share best practices.
Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership
role within warehouse or transportation industries preferred
Strong knowledge of employment laws, basic DOT regulations, OSHA compliance, and best
HR practices
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills STRONG
Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across all levels of an
organization
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is a plus and/or other HR Group
Membership
Experience in managing workforce challenges; preferably specific to warehouse
environments
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Frequent sitting, standing and walking
Occasionally required to climb, bend, kneel or lift up to 25 lbs.
Potential exposure to outside elements and inclement weather conditions
24/7 Operations, flexible work schedule to include nights and weekends as needed
