Description

Position Summary: Responsible to guide and manage the overall provision of Human Resources (HR) services, policies, and programs for the Northeastern Tribal Health System.

Position responsibilities:

  • Employee recruiting and staffing, orientation, development, and training.
  • Serves as administrative liaison to employees.
  • Maintains personnel files for all Tribal and Federal employees.
  • Responsible for initiation and maintenance of Health, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurance forms and information.
  • Coordinates the documentation between HR and Finance regarding resignations, address, insurance and salary changes.
  • Oversight of the Performance Appraisal System and probationary periods for the facility.
  • Administers and reports on Employee and Patient Satisfaction Surveys.
  • Ensure all Position Descriptions (PDs) are up to date; create new PDs when necessary.
  • Assists the Administrative Officer with credentialing of providers and Medicare CMS 855r and CMS 855i forms for new providers.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Requirements

Essential skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources highly preferred or related degree.
  • Three to five years Human Resources experience.
  • HRIS experience.
  • Knowledgeable in Federal and Tribal employment law.
  • Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
  • Management: ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.


Valued but not required skills and experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources, or related.
  • Experience supervising Human Resources team.
  • PHR Certification
