Principle Purpose of Job

The Human Resources Director is responsible for leading all aspects of the employee lifecycle—recruitment, onboarding, retention, compensation, housing, and development. This role supports our leadership team, drives employee engagement, ensures compliance, and promotes a positive work culture aligned with the Ranch’s mission.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company’s goals and support a strong employee culture.
  • Advise leadership on organizational structure, employee relations, and HR best practices.
  • Oversee the HR department budget and manage the HR, Housing, and Recruiting teams.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding processes across all departments.
  • Partner with the Recruiting Manager to hire and onboard candidates for management roles.
  • Manage visa and international staffing programs, including J-1, H2B, and Green Card sponsorships.
  • Foster a positive workplace environment by maintaining open communication and resolving employee conflicts.
  • Support employee morale through recognition programs, events, and feedback channels such as employee surveys.
  • Handle employee complaints and investigations in collaboration with leadership and legal counsel when necessary.
  • Assess training needs, develop internal training programs, and ensure effective onboarding.
  • Deliver HR training content during manager meetings and maintain updated SOPs for all HR processes.
  • Ensure all HR policies and the Employee Handbook remain current, legally compliant, and effectively communicated.
  • Manage the full cycle of performance evaluations, employee discipline, and terminations.
  • Oversee compliance with employment laws including FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, E-Verify, and I-9 regulations.
  • Provide guidance on compensation structures and maintain competitive pay ranges.
  • Manage employee benefits programs and support internal education around offerings and enrollment.
  • Work closely with Payroll to ensure accuracy and resolve any payroll-related issues.
  • Support the Housing Manager with move-ins, move-outs, inspections, maintenance requests, and conflict resolution within employee housing.
  • Ensure all housing facilities are clean, safe, and aligned with company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized employee files, job descriptions, evaluations, and documentation within the HRIS.
  • Manage the applicant tracking system, background checks, and all compliance documentation.
  • Attend and organize employee events and ensure bulletin boards and communications are up to date.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant General Manager or General Manager.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of HR leadership, preferably in hospitality (4- or 5-star environment).
  • 2+ years of team management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits, employment law, and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to sit, type, and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs or more. 
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Due to the nature of our 24-hour operation, there is no guaranteed work schedule. Managers will try to accommodate specific schedule requests, but they are never guaranteed if business volume prohibits.
