Description

The HR Director at Jarc serves as an operational leader guiding the employee talent cycle and HR function within Jarc.  This role is core to providing internal “customer service” to Jarc employees, ensuring compliance and fostering positive employee engagement. Experience for this role could include working on small and larger HR teams, managing a small team, ability to navigate complex HR and compliance initiatives with patience and grit.  

This is a small and mighty team, reliant on utilizing technology to create efficiency within the department and organization. This person must be ready to jump in and balance both high level decision making along with getting into the day-to-day details of the talent management cycle and interacting with all staff.   

This position is based out of Jarc’s Bloomfield Hills headquarters on-site four days a week; all office staff work remotely on Fridays. The HR Director will ultimately report to the CEO and will work closely with an HR consultant during onboarding and transitioning into the role. This position will manage a small team. 

 

  • HR Operations Oversight; manage all elements of talent management cycle including: 

  • Benefits administration, payroll changes and compliance 

  • Recruiting process, job description management and recruitment for office positions 

  • Build relationships with external partners 

  • Organizational Development 

  • Manage employee development and retention programs, manage maintenance of policies, handbook, and any additional legal concerns  

  • Employee Engagement:  

  • Build employee engagement programs, lead culture of organization 

  • Serve as subject matter expert on HR policies, employee relations and policy enforcement 

  • Connect and advise leaders and managers on talent management cycle, day-to-day HR operations, and build strong internal relationships 

  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or other related field (equivalent experience and HR certifications also acceptable) 

  • 6-10 years of progressive HR experience 

  • Experience managing HR functions, department, or individuals, preferred 

  • Experience with non-profits, social service agencies, government-funded organizations or organizations with a high-level of compliance and certification management a plus 

  • Strong HR technology background, has managed or worked within an HRIS/ATS - Paycom preferred 

  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills 

  • Must communicate at a high level both written and spoken; experience with people of diverse backgrounds a plus
