People & Culture People Operations Generalist


Job Summary/Objective

The People & Culture (P&C) People Operations Generalist supports core HR operations within a dynamic food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for benefits and leave administration, compliance, learning management, HR systems, and the execution of key P&C programs. The Generalist serves as a trusted resource to associates and managers, ensuring compliant, efficient, and associate-focused HR processes.

Essential Functions

  • Benefits Administration: Responsible for benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, audits, and invoices, vendor coordination, and associate support.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Track and document training, continuing education, and work assessments. Conduct background checks and verify employment eligibility.
  • Leave & Absences Management: Responsible for the leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA, state medical leave programs, and other statutory or company-specific leave programs. Ensure consistent application and associate support throughout the leave process.
  • Learning Program Administration: Assign and launch learning activities in the Learning Management System. Leverage data and reporting to monitor and report on learning progress. Coordinate in-house and external training sessions. Create and manage an annual training schedule.
  • Associate Handbook and Company Policies: Maintain and administer the associate handbook, including drafting and updating policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; partnering with leadership to implement policy changes; communicating updates to associates; and providing guidance and interpretation to managers and associates to ensure consistent application.
  • P&C Systems & Reporting: Utilize ADP and other P&C management systems to maintain employee records, generate reports, and provide data-driven insights to support P&C decision-making.
  • Uniform Program Management: Manage and administer the company-wide uniform program, including new hire setup, uniform changes, locker coordination, vendor partnership, inventory oversight, safety compliance alignment, and invoice auditing and processing to ensure cost accuracy and control.

Work Environment

The role is an office-based role within a food manufacturing facility, and may occasionally need to visit production areas, requiring adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to navigate different departments within the facility.

Position Type

  • Full-Time

Work Hours

  • Core hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • This position requires an in-office presence with one remote day per week.

Travel

  • Regional vehicular travel may be required for training, meetings, and manufacturing plant visits.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
  • At least 3 years of human resource generalist experience with a focus on benefits and leave administration.
  • Experience with multi-state leave administration.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and third-party provider benefit and leave administration portals.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) is highly preferred.

Compensation

The typical starting salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year. Several factors, including skills, experience, education, certifications, and the location of the job, will determine the actual pay offered. The salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for associates in these positions.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
