Job Summary:
The Employee Engagement Specialist is responsible for fostering a diverse, vibrant, and cohesive workplace culture by coordinating impactful initiatives that strengthen employee connection, belonging, and retention. This role supports an inclusive workplace by planning company-wide events, managing internal communication channels, supporting the onboarding process and engagement programs.

Under the guidance of the Employee Engagement and L&D Manager, you will be a steward of a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Your efforts will help ensure that all employees feel supported, recognized, and engaged with SEGA’s mission and values.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inclusive Culture & Event Coordination: Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of internal events and culture-building initiatives such as team-building activities, holiday parties, milestone celebrations, product launches, and themed office events to enhance employee connection and inclusivity across the workforce.
  • Internal Communication: Under the direction of management, create, manage, and distribute engaging and consistent content on platforms such as the company intranet, email announcements, and digital signage.
  • Onboarding & Employee Experience: Coordinate the onboarding process, including pre-start communication, new hire orientation, welcome gift packs, and serve as a company ambassador and point of contact to help new employees feel connected,  supported, and welcomed into our inclusive culture.
  • Employee Perks Program Administration Support the administration of employee perks program, including company recognition platform, sports tickets, game codes, and annual gifting.
  • Employee Feedback, Survey & Insights: Assist in gathering employee feedback on culture and engagement programs through surveys or direct input and use data-driven insights to implement improvements that resonate with employees.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with HR Partners and cross-functional teams to brainstorm and plan ideas for internal events and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and employee needs.
  • Swag, Recognition and Branded Materials: Support the selection and ordering of employee swag, manage distribution and inventory of branded gifts as part of recognition initiatives or special events.
  • Budget, Vendor & Contract Coordination: Support management in maintaining annual event and program budgets, source and negotiate with outside vendors, and maintain detailed expense reports for the department, ensuring accurate tracking, compliance, and responsible budget use. Coordinate with the Legal team to complete vendor contracts.
  • Social Impact and Community Engagement: Assist with the administration of company donations to our social impact partners, including in-kind donations, monetary contributions, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Other responsibilities are performed as assigned or needed. 


Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Working in-office is an essential function of this position. This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision, collaboration, and teamwork.  In-office attendance is required for the following reasons:
    • For effective supervision of employees and our work product, which includes ensuring all employees have necessary oversight of their work and access to supervisory assistance, which includes meetings to review work product, deadlines, and status.
    • To foster communication and collaboration among team members, which includes the following: allowing for spontaneous brainstorming sessions and exchanges of ideas, quick access to team members to enable collaborative problem-solving, and stronger cohesion among co-workers and within teams.
    • To enhance the sharing of information necessary to effective job performance and product creation. 
    • To enhance understanding of our stakeholders’ work and business needs, facilitate a more seamless and organic workflow, and ultimately increase efficiency and successful outcomes.
  • Typically has 3+ years of relevant experience in employee engagement and/or event planning
  • Willingness and ability to travel to multiple office locations or event sites to support on-site logistics and engagement efforts within the LA/OC area
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, flexible attitude and ability to interact with people of all levels within and outside the company with friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Adobe/AdobeSign and DocuSign platforms
  • Ability to organize, prioritize multiple tasks and work in a changing environment with minimal supervision.
