About the Role

We’re looking for an Internal Communications & Employee Events Manager to help us build employee engagement through internal communications, events, office rituals, onboarding touchpoints, and hybrid formats.

This is not a pure event management role. We need someone who understands how employee events work as part of internal communications and culture-building: how to create the concept, write the announcement, prepare the brief, manage vendors, run the event, and make people actually want to join.

The role is local to Manila and requires strong English, Tagalog / Filipino language, and a good understanding of the local cultural context. One of the key goals is to create more shared moments and points of connection between local employees and expats.

What you’ll own

  • Own the internal engagement calendar across office, hybrid, and company-wide formats: from idea and planning to execution, feedback, and improvement

  • Run employee events end-to-end: company celebrations, office activities, onboarding welcome moments, culture formats, quarterly hybrid events, annual awards, and other employee initiatives

  • Own internal communications around events and engagement: posts, announcements, event messages, scripts, presentations, and culture updates

  • Prepare briefs, moodboards, simple visual assets, and internal materials in Figma / Canva when speed matters

  • Work with vendors, venues, agencies, designers, merch and production partners, keeping timelines, quality, and budgets under control

  • Track participation, feedback, expenses, and engagement signals, then improve formats based on what people respond to

What we expect from you

  • 2–3+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, employer brand, events, culture programs, or similar roles

  • Hands-on ownership of events from brief to execution, not just coordination of one workstream

  • Experience working with vendors, venues, agencies, designers, production partners, or merch suppliers

  • Strong written and spoken English and Tagalog / Filipino language

  • Strong project management across timelines, stakeholders, budgets, and parallel workstreams

  • Ability to write clear internal posts, announcements, scripts, and presentations with the right tone of voice

  • Confident use of Figma, Canva, ChatGPT / Claude, and spreadsheets for simple assets, texts, budgets, reporting, and planning

What matters a lot

  • Good taste and visual awareness: you can create moodboards, brief designers, and recognize strong event concepts and visuals

  • Energy and confidence: you are comfortable speaking to an audience, involving people, and creating momentum around internal activities

  • Creativity and problem-solving: you can find out-of-the-box solutions when the standard process does not work

  • Business attitude: you can read estimates, negotiate with vendors, manage budgets, and act in the company’s best interests

  • Understanding that employee events are not just logistics — they are a tool for communication, engagement, and culture

What would be a strong plus

  • Experience with events for large audiences, up to around 1,000 people

  • Experience in a startup or high-growth company where processes are still being built

  • Experience designing remote or hybrid engagement formats

  • Interest in modern events, visual trends, creative formats, and employee experience

Location/format

This is a Manila-based role. We are not considering fully remote candidates.

The role requires local presence, cultural context, and the ability to work directly with venues, vendors, and employees on-site.
