A leading multinational mining group is recruiting a senior executive to lead its People & Culture function. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience from within multinational mining environments and a proven track record of driving transformation across complex operations.

Role Title: Executive – Organizational Growth
(Also known as: Chief People Officer (CPO) | HR Executive)

This executive role will oversee the full People Operations ecosystem, including:

  • Human Resources

  • Training & Development

  • HRIS and Workforce Technology

  • Transformation and Change Management

  • Contractor Management

  • Camp & Facilities Oversight

  • Employee Services

  • Strategic Organizational Development

Key Performance Focus Areas

  • People Leadership: Build and maintain a high-performing, engaged team

  • Operational Excellence: Lead and optimize people operations across all sites

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Deliver superior internal client service throughout the employee lifecycle

  • Financial Oversight: Maintain financial integrity within the function

  • Transformation Delivery: Enable cultural alignment and seamless organizational change

  • HSEQ Integration: Ensure health, safety, environmental and quality standards are embedded

  • Governance & Reporting: Provide clear, compliant and data-driven reporting frameworks



Requirements

Language Requirement:

A French-speaking candidate is highly recommended for this role.

Mandatory Requirements for Candidate Profile:

  • Postgraduate degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in People Operations roles
  • At least 8+ years in senior leadership roles managing multiple people operational functions
  • Demonstrated experience leading HR transformation initiatives, including implementing and optimizing HRIS and HR technology
  • Experience managing contractors, facilities, and workplace services in a multicultural mining environment
  • Proficiency in business English is mandatory. Working Knowledge of French will be considered advantageous

Rotation Schedule:

  • South Africa-based candidates: 3 weeks on-site, 1 week home leave
  • Africa-based candidates: 6 weeks on-site, 2 weeks home leave
  • International (Asia and others): 9 weeks on-site, 3 weeks home leave
