Position Summary:
· Duke University Athletics is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Director for Employee Engagement and Experience. The Assistant Director is responsible for providing consistent, high quality human resources administration to the department of athletics by overseeing recruitment, onboarding, annual reviews, and staff engagement.
Essential Functions:
· Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
o Administer the full cycle recruitment process for the Athletics department including managing and updating position descriptions, communicating and working with hiring managers and campus recruitment to post vacancies, support search committees by participating in departmental interviews, and providing guidance to support hiring managers
o Maintain data accuracy and records for applicant tracking within Success Factors
· Onboarding
o Oversee and enhance the onboarding process for new hires and interns by meeting with all new members, coordinating access and parking within Athletics and managing all necessary documentation
o Schedule, plan and oversee departmental orientation events
o Schedule campus orientation
· Performance Reviews
o Track, manage and record 90-day and annual performance reviews for the department to ensure timeliness and completion of documents for employees
· Engagement
o Manage the successful implementation of the annual Open Door Initiative (ODI) program
o Assist with the coordination and organization of the New Devils professional development program
o Be an active member of the Culture and Community Group (CCG) within Athletics
o Develop weekly and monthly communication to the department in the form of newsletters, notifications and social media content.
o Assist in coordinating and tracking departmental trainings and events
· HR Systems and Policies
o Assist with and process position reclassifications, terminations and other HR functions
o Maintain organizational charts for all units within athletics
o Serve as an HR resource with regards to campus and departmental policies and procedures
o Coordinate, organize and communicate all camps and clinics with regards to Youth in Duke programs
o Maintain strict confidentiality when handling personnel matters
· Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree
· 3 years of related administrative experience or human resources experience with proven success of policy driven initiatives or combination of education and work experience
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects, events and staff trainings
· Outstanding verbal and written communication
· Ability to intently listen and creatively engage with staff
· Ability to independently research topics and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of an Associate's degree program.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $48,960.00 to USD $77,928.00.
