About the Role:

The Workforce Planning Manager is responsible for ensuring appropriately skilled and adequate staffing is deployed to meet care needs of our residents and clients. The role will work closely with operational leaders, recruitment and rostering to ensure labour is deployed in the most effective and efficient way. The role will also ensure labour deployment is in line with approved labour budget and regulatory requirement such as Care minute targets and compliance with the Southern Cross Care (WA)’s Enterprise Agreement.

This position is located at our central office in Rivervale with a flexible working environment.

We’ll be asking you to:

  • Workforce Planning: Analyse workforce data and trends to forecast future staffing needs and develop strategies that align with business objectives.
  • Create efficient rosters and schedules that align with service delivery needs and employee availability
  • Utilise workforce analytics to monitor employee utilisation, turnover and absence rates, training compliance, care minutes, and other key metrics to inform decision making.
  • Prepare detailed reports for senior leadership on workforce trends and recommendations for process improvements.
  • Coach and develop those involved in rostering and scheduling to optimise labour deployment in a financially sustainable and compliant way while monitoring employee attendance to ensure reliability and address any issues promptly.
  • Be the key Subject Matter Expert in the redesign, deployment and change impacts of new rostering technology that support the new way of working.


About you:

You are a data driven workforce planning professional who thrives in complex, operationally focused environments. You bring strong stakeholder engagement skills and can confidently influence at all levels of the organisation.

You will also bring:

 

  • Demonstrated experience in workforce planning, rostering, or operational labour management, ideally in aged care, healthcare, or another regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate workforce data into actionable insights.
  • Sound knowledge of industrial instruments, compliance requirements, and care minute considerations.
  • Strong coaching skills to support teams to adapt to new ways of working in workforce planning.
  • Experience working with workforce or rostering systems and leading change initiatives.
