Position Description

The Workforce Culture Analyst Senior is a civil service position, located with the Workforce Diversity and Culture division of the Department of Human Resources and performs complex professional, technical, and analytical workforce culture-related activities. The senior-level Workforce Culture Analyst will perform workforce culture-related recruitment, retention, training, and data work to ensure Metro work cultures are functioning with fairness, representation, and positive impact to the diverse constituents we serve.

Generally, this position works a hybrid work schedule with 2 days in the office and 3 days virtual work.

Typical Duties

  • Identifies and develops diverse employment pipelines to increase awareness of Metro employment opportunities.
  • Builds strategic and innovative retention programs to assist in establishing a framework for psychological safety, providing tools for success, and removing identified barriers to flourishing for all employees.
  • Conducts monthly data analysis of all Metro employees to explore and evaluate employee retention trends.
  • Utilizes various retention tools to promote a positive workplace culture throughout Metro.
  • Builds succession strategies to maximize advancement and retention paths for qualified employees.
  • Collaborates and coaches supervisors, appointing authorities, and human resources coordinators to identify and counteract barriers to access and thriving for employees in Metro departments.
  • Assists Workforce Culture Manager in department coaching and culture-building engagements.
  • Designs strategies and builds programs based on collected data and best practices to improve recruitment, hiring, and retention of high quality candidates positioned to serve the diverse Metropolitan Nashville community.
  • Develops and delivers presentations and training related to workplace culture, interpersonal relationship building, and soft skills.
  • Interprets and explains Civil Service rules, policies and procedures; confers with departmental staff, and counsels employees and managers on HR Workforce Culture-related practices.
  • Keeps abreast of legislative, procedural, and other changes related to HR and EEO.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of professional HR experience in Workforce Culture-related work.

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with business intelligence and data visualization systems, such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Experience with training and curriculum development and delivery.
  • Certified as a Human Resources professional by HRCI, SHRM, or related organization.
  • Experience visioning, leading, or participating in organizational Affinity/Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).
  • Experience with Gallup’s Clifton Strengths Finder insight tool.
