Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $84,700 - $141,100.   We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.

 

Scope of Job: The Talent Development Lead will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs to support the organization's goals and objectives. They will work closely with subject matter experts, managers, and other stakeholders to identify training needs and develop effective training solutions. The Talent Development Lead will also be responsible for launching and running Talent Reviews and Performance Reviews.  This position reports to the Director - Talent and Organizational Development.

 

Work Location:  San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA

 

Work Mode:        Hybrid, with 3 days on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Training and Development:
    • Deliver training programs in a variety of formats, including classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training.
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvements.
    • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal and external business issues to deliver programs that facilitate the execution of business priorities
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SME) and stakeholders to identify training needs and develop training programs that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
    • Design, develop, and implement scalable blended learning programs including instructor-led training, videos, job aids, and other materials as needed that cater to all locations and languages company-wide by leveraging e-learning, mobile learning, virtual classrooms and other emerging technologies.
    • Drives end-to-end project planning and program communications – coordinate the work of internal teams and external vendors, create project timelines, assign, and track deliverables, report on progress, and effectively leverage team resources to meet project goals
    • Develops training, documentation, and any needed support tools/guidelines to provide continuous reinforcement of the processes
    • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges, addresses promptly and works to identify and deliver updated program materials
    • Acts as a resource for colleagues and partners throughout the business as a SME on power skills (aka. soft skill) topics
    • Actively research evolving trends in the field of learning and recommend innovative training tools and techniques to deliver cutting-edge design solutions.
  • Talent Management and Engagement:
    • Responsible for launching and running Performance Review process through the Human Capital System (HCM) and delivering relevant employee and manager trainings.
    • Own the deployment and action planning for companywide annual Employee Engagement Survey.
    • Working with internal HR teams to drive the annual talent review cycle to include training, developing individual development plans, and advising company leadership.
  • Learning Analytics:
    • Analyze effectiveness and efficiency of learning solutions delivered. Proactively communicate progress and insights to Director, Talent and OD, and partner with stakeholders to improve programs over time.

Supervision of Others: No direct reports.

 

Fiscal Responsibilities:

The employee must work within the budget constraints as authorized by the Executive Team; while successfully following all policies and procedures related to employees’ fiscal responsibilities in doing the day-to-day job. Work with Director, Talent and OD to coordinate with learning vendors to keep up with contracts and negotiate rates.

 

Working Conditions:

In person or Hybrid (minimum of 3 days in the office)

90% of time is spent in an office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 10% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites, internal department offsites, in addition to attending various conferences and meetings.  

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree with education
  • Certification in training delivery and demonstrated experience in training delivery online, hybrid and face-to-face preferred.
  • 3 years of demonstrated experience in training delivery, design, and development.
  • Certifications in Crucial Conversations, Talent Smart’s Mastering EQ a plus
  • Some team leadership experience preferred. 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing and delivering training programs, preferably in a corporate environment.
  • Passionate at learning new things, with a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge in adult learning theories and instructional design models, including ADDIE approaches.
  • Self-directed passionate learner who keeps current in the space of leadership development
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of completing projects to specifications while dealing with challenges such as changing schedules, transformation, location strategy and evolving requirements
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, customer oriented and able to work independently as well as within a team and with internal business partners
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (Dayforce is a plus)

Physical Requirements:

Able to perform audio/visual equipment set-ups and take-downs which may require standing, stooping, etc. Lifting boxes and materials of 10-15 Lbs.
