Position Purpose
The Talent Acquisition Specialist creates a positive, people-first experience for current and future TAPCO team members. This role supports the full recruitment and onboarding lifecycle and partners with the HR/Learning & Development Manager on key HR functions that help employees thrive. To keep TAPCO competitive and community-focused, this position stays current on industry trends, workforce changes, and best practices, with a strong commitment to embedding Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Accessibility (DEIBA) into daily operations. Position Responsibilities
- Embeds diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and accessibility (DEIBA) into your daily workflow.
- Navigate your daily work using a diverse, equitable, inclusive, belonging, and accessibility lens.
- Consult with business leaders on talent gaps to drive an effective and efficient talent acquisition strategy.
- Source and identify top talent utilizing creative recruiting strategies to develop a pipeline for current and future opportunities.
- Proactively gather actionable and competitive intelligence from market analysis to advise business leaders on current and future talent trends.
- Network, source and build a talent pipeline with industry leaders to attract skilled and credentialed professionals.
- Screen, evaluate and qualify candidates, including conducting in-depth candidate interviews to develop a deep understanding of candidate qualifications and competencies.
- Utilize creative diversity sourcing strategies for the designated business groups; this includes building strong external partnerships with diverse associations.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources and Learning/Development team to continually enhance recruiting strategies.
- Continuously search for and use new recruiting sources, job boards, and forums to build candidate pools while developing strategies to attract talent for hard to fill/specialty positions.

- Must have organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills along with the ability to manage priorities and work in both a team and individual setting.
- Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
- Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for each position.
- Works in conjunction with the Human Resources and the Learning and Development teams to develop, maintain and update effective strategies, policies, and procedures for the organization.
- Ensures that plans, policies, and procedures are in accordance with laws, regulations, industry trends, and further credit union initiatives.
- Ability to think ahead and find efficient and innovative ways to overcome challenges.
- Produce high quality results with an attention to detail.
- Serves as a backup to HR/L&D team
- Assumes responsibility for other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
- Three to five years’ human resource/recruitment experience.
- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), preferably Paylocity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Analytical skills and experience in interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with staff, board members, external partners, and members.
- Understanding employment law practices and principles.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrates an understanding of and adheres to the requirements of all federal, state, and local laws, including those of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), as it specifically relates to the job functions.
Position Working Conditions
- The work environment is an office setting, and in-person
- Travel by car may be required – must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle.
- Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Frequently required to sit and stand for longer periods of time.
- May need to respond to critical or emergency situations inside or outside of regular working hours.
Salary: Starting at $34.41 - $37.85 per hour (depending on experience).
