This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.

The position reports to the Manager, Talent Acquisition and will be located at the FirstEnergy in Reading, PA.

Qualifications for a Talent Acquisition Representative II:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline and a minimum of 2 years relevant work experience is required.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience is required. Relevant work experience includes experience in Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, Talent Sourcing or Human Resources.
  • Full-cycle recruiting experience for exempt, professional-level positions preferred.
  • Demonstrated capabilities for successfully sourcing diverse slates of candidates is preferred.
  • Experience using creative sourcing strategies and resume mining.
  • Strong organizational and follow up skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Sound interviewing, organizational, public relations, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems. Experience with the SuccessFactors and/or Oracle ATS preferred.
  • Excellent presentation skills to highlight FirstEnergy values, mission, strengths, and opportunities.
  • Broad knowledge of Employment Laws and HR Policies.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Possess strong team building skills and be a positive contributor in a team environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and internet research. Knowledge of SAP highly preferred.

  • Proven ability to develop and manage strong relationships with a broad range of individuals at various levels of the organization.
  • Available to work before and after standard office hours as work requires.

Responsibilities:

  • Holding strategic consultation meetings with hiring managers and developing job postings based on the responsibilities and qualification requirements of open positions.
  • Partnering and strategically guiding/advising hiring managers through the recruiting process from posting through candidate acceptance.
  • Ensuring diversity is appropriately represented at all stages of the hiring process in compliance with the guidelines outlined in FirstEnergy's hiring process policy (HR Letter 202).
  • Posting positions on FirstEnergy's internal and external career websites, as well as on relevant third-party job boards.
  • Creating and executing candidate sourcing strategies, including sourcing passive candidates and leveraging skills for sourcing diverse candidates
  • Demonstrating a solid commitment to safety
  • Exercising sound decision making by developing alternatives and recommendations to improve recruiting work processes
  • Actively seeking formal and informal learning opportunities to better understand recruiting procedures
  • Partnering with hiring managers to determine staffing objectives by studying organization plans and position requirements
  • Developing sourcing strategies designed to identify qualified candidates through various recruiting sources and tools
  • Partnering with various niche and community groups to increase the diversity of candidate slates provided to hiring managers
  • Determining candidate qualifications by developing knowledge, skill, and screening questions for each position to ensure placement of top talent
  • Conducting phone screens, interviews, and employee benefit overviews
  • Referring qualified candidates to hiring managers, while ensuring diversity is appropriately represented in accordance with HR Policy Letter 202 and in support of D&I KPIs
  • Developing salary recommendations by analyzing internal equity in relation to the candidate’s skills and experience
  • Presenting employment offers while selling organization values, strengths, and opportunities
  • Negotiating all final salary and benefit terms with candidates
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of requisition status, candidates considered and selection decisions
  • Providing guidance to hiring managers to ensure compliance with Federal and State employment laws
  • Maintaining relationships with business networks and professional organizations to gain knowledge and obtain referrals
  • Attending college career fairs and other recruitment events
  • Researching current recruiting best practices, methods and processes to proactively recommend process changes
  • Maintaining a high degree of confidentiality on projects and employee-related information

Qualifications at the HR Representative III level include all the above plus:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline and a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience is required.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience is required. Relevant work experience includes experience in Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, Talent Sourcing or Human Resources.
  • Strong working knowledge of/experience with an Applicant Tracking System (ATS); experience with Empower ATS 
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Strong sales skills to match candidates with Company's needs
  • Strong passive sourcing skills
  • A combination of high energy and creativity, backed with strong analytical skills
  • Sound interviewing, organizational, public relations, negotiation and communication skills
  • Experience with behavioral based interview techniques and ability to coach management appropriately in its usage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability in modelling FE’s Values and Behaviors
  • Attention to detail and strong customer service focus
  • Strong planning and prioritizing skills
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with a broad range of individuals at different levels
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to travel periodically with overnight stays in and outside of FirstEnergy territory
