Reporting to Human Resource Manager, the Superintendent – Talent Acquisition & Management Superintendent will be responsible for leading recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and succession management across LMC Departments. This role ensures the organization attracts and retains a highly skilled workforce aligned with operational needs, safety standards, and long-term business goals. The Superintendent will work closely with Hiring Managers and senior management to deliver strategic people solutions.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following
Develop and execute recruitment strategies to fill positions across mining operations, technical services, maintenance, processing, and support functions.
Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, including job scoping, advertising, screening, interviewing, and selection.
Build strong partnerships with Zambian universities and higher-learning institutions to identify, attract, and engage top-performing students for internships, graduate programmes, and entry-level roles.
Coordinate campus-based recruitment initiatives and career fairs
Collaborate with academic institutions to align curriculum and industry needs, contributing to talent pipeline sustainability.
Maintain relationships with local and international recruitment agencies and training institutions.
Oversee onboarding to ensure new employees are effectively integrated into teams.
Ensure all recruitment activities align with company policies, safety standards, and local labor laws
Lead annual performance management cycles, including objective setting, performance reviews, and calibration discussions.
Coordinate succession planning processes and identify high-potential employees for critical roles.
Work with learning and development teams to implement technical, professional, and leadership training programs.
Maintain competency frameworks for key operational and leadership roles.
Track individual development plans, training participation, and career progression pathways.
Support the development of graduate and internship programs to cultivate early-career talent sourced from universities.
Foster a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and employee engagement across the workforce.
Lead or support projects related to capability building, culture transformation, and employee experience improvement.
Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the mining workforce.
Support the implementation of HR systems and digital tools that enhance talent management processes and analytics.
Contribute to initiatives that strengthen employee retention, internal mobility, and leadership pipeline development.
Provide support to the leadership team on recruitment, performance, and talent development matters.
Provide coaching to Hiring managers on interviewing skills, performance conversations, and development planning.
Build strong relationships with academic partners, government agencies, scholarship bodies and training institutions.
Represent the company at university engagements, industry forums, and talent development events.
Present recruitment metrics, talent dashboards, and development insights to senior leadership teams.
Ensure all recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and development activities comply with company policies, safety requirements, and legal regulations.
Maintain accurate talent data and HR records for audits and reporting.
Track and report key talent metrics, including time-to-fill, quality of hire, internal promotion rates, training hours, and talent pipeline strength
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years of HR experience with significant exposure to talent acquisition and talent management, preferably within mining or heavy industrial sectors.
Proven success in managing recruitment in high-volume
Strong understanding of performance management, succession planning, and competency development frameworks.
Experience with HRIS Recruitment systems and talent analytics.
Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and ethical HR practices
Must have good understanding and able to interpret the Zambian Labour Laws
Must be a certified member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.
