Position Overview

The Sr Learning & Talent Development Business Partner is responsible for designing, developing and delivering learning programs targeted at enhancing the use of technology and analytical tools for business decision making. This role will ensure learning programs are built using sound design principles, leveraging appropriate learning technology, and are scalable across the enterprise. The role will also be responsible for the Data & Analytics Rotational program and internship program ensuring all D&A team members are getting the relevant experiences needed to be successful in their careers. The ideal candidate will cultivate strong, collaborative partnerships across Hormel Foods and its subsidiaries, will leverage trends and insights to provide innovative learning & talent solutions, and will demonstrate a measurable impact on our talent and organization needs.

 This position will report directly to the Learning & Talent Development Manager at the corporate headquarters in Austin, Minnesota. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learning Program Design, Development, and Execution. Design and develop new learning programs related to analytics, data analysis tools, techniques and methodologies. Deliver learning sessions to all functional domains, both in-person and virtually ensuring the content is engaging, effective, and tailored to individual domains (ie. Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance, Supply Chain).  Collaborate with Domain subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify learning needs and develop appropriate learning objectives. Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs through assessments, feedback and performance metrics and make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes. This includes responsibility for the Data & Analytics rotational program and internship programs. 
  • Performance Support and Coaching. Provide ongoing support and guidance to trainees, including answering questions, troubleshooting issues and offering additional resources.  Provide mentorship by offering an additional leadership perspective to trainees and training program participants. 

  • Thought Leadership. Collaborate with Data & analytics office leadership to stay updated on the latest trends, tools and technologies in analytics and incorporate them into training materials and sessions

  • Culture: Champion and drive initiatives that promote Hormel’s cultural beliefs and a productive, inclusive culture that values collaboration and innovation by leveraging data from assessments and surveys to understand cultural dynamics and inform strategies for improvement, coaching and advising leaders and business partners, facilitating learning programs across the enterprise. 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer or data science, business, business analytics or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing effective learning programs in a corporate setting. 

  • Demonstrated success in utilizing analytics and statistical techniques to derive insights from data.

  • Experience working with relevant data languages or tools for example SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, etc. 

  • Demonstrated success in creating and implementing blended learning solutions, including e-learning, instructor-led training, and on-the-job training.

  • Experience in needs assessment and performance gap analysis.

  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Adaptability and a forward-thinking approach to learning and talent development.

  • Executive presence and experience in influencing and gaining commitment from senior leadership and other key stakeholders to the actions that will advance their goals.

  • Skilled change agent with ability to create transformational change, lead change and gain buy-in from others, and knowledgeable change sustainer.  Proven ability to make sound decisions under conditions of uncertainty. 

  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

Austin, MN (Global Headquarters) or Chicago, IL (Downtown Chicago Office)

 

Pay Range & Benefits:

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  The base hiring pay range for this role is between $86,500 - $121,200 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will ,depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
