  • Provide thought leadership to Te Tari Taiwhenua to ensure our people practices support a high-performing organisation and a great place to work so that we can continue making a difference for New Zealanders.
  • Lead key organisational development initiatives, including improvements to our performance management practices, and developing and embedding a leadership development system at Te Tari Taiwhenua. 
  • Coach and support a team of OD professionals in the design and delivery of a range of OD and learning programmes and initiatives.  

The Organisational Development team is part of the Human Resources team within the Organisational Performance| Nuku Toiere branch. Organisational Performance is dedicated to supporting Te Tari Taiwhenua to succeed by providing corporate services that help business groups and people within DIA to make the best contribution to New Zealand.

The work programme for the team is at an exciting point, we have a work programme underway that spans Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Management, Organisational Culture, Performance Management and Capability Development. 

There is now the opportunity for an experienced and strategically minded OD Principal Advisor to get on board to lead key projects and initiatives, working with HR colleagues, leaders, and the Executive to shape a positive future for the organisation. 

To be successful in the role you will have: 

  • Significant experience leading a range of OD strategies, programmes and initiatives
  • A sound understanding of good practice learning design and delivery 
  • Significant experience building and managing complex relationships, particularly with senior and executive leaders
  • Experience applying programme management disciplines to support delivery
  • Experience providing coaching and support to OD professionals, and leaders.
  • An understanding of Te Reo Māori, Tikanga, and Te Aō Māori.
