Introduction

We are seeking an adaptable and detailed-oriented People Ops Associate to join a growing human resources consulting environment. In this role, you will act as a trusted point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients, delivering day-to-day HR guidance, supporting talent initiatives, and ensuring compliance across state and federal employment regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Client Advisory & Operations

  • Serve as a critical HR point of contact for client leadership, building trusted advisor relationships tailored to their unique business, culture, and priorities.

  • Provide day-to-day guidance on People Operations matters, escalating strategic or complex legal issues to Senior/Principal Consultants as needed.

  • Identify operational risks, service gaps, and process improvement opportunities to enhance the overall client experience.

 

Compliance & Policy Management

  • Ensure strict compliance with state and federal HR regulations and employment laws.

  • Develop, update, and maintain Employee Handbooks, policies, and standard operating procedures.

  • Assist clients with ad hoc policy governance, safety compliance, and government agency inquiries (e.g., unemployment insurance claims).

 

Lifecycle Support & HRIS Administration

  • Facilitate seamless onboarding and offboarding experiences, including documentation, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination.

  • Maintain employee records, benefits, leaves, and attendance data within client HRIS platforms.

  • Assist recruitment efforts when needed by posting requisitions, conducting background checks, and drafting offer letters.

  • Support performance management execution, including new hire check-ins, disciplinary documentation, and annual reviews.

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of progressive experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner.

  • Knowledge: Proven experience with employee relations and a strong working knowledge of US federal and state employment laws.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency using various HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR, HiBob, Gusto, Rippling).

  • Remote Setup: High-speed internet, a dedicated/distraction-free home workspace, and strong self-management and prioritization skills.

  • Integrity: Proven ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information with care.

 

Preferred:

  • Industry Background: Prior experience in HR consulting, agency work, or managing multi-client environments.

  • Certifications: SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR designation.
