We’re looking for a People ops and experience partner to join our People team at Seccl on a maternity cover contract for around 15 months. We'd love for this maternity cover to start some time in April, but are flexible as aiming for a longer lead time to ensure our processes are covered.
Reporting into our Head of people and working closely with our People adviser and the wider business, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our people operations as we scale.
This is an exciting opportunity to take real ownership of the moments that matter across our people lifecycle; from onboarding and reward to systems, policies and engagement - helping us build the foundations for continued growth while keeping our culture at the heart of everything we do.
Our People team is at the centre of shaping what it feels like to work at Seccl. We’re focused on creating a seamless, inclusive and high-trust people experience, supported by strong operational foundations and insight-driven decision making. As we continue to grow, this role will be instrumental in evolving our people processes, embedding scalable ways of working, and delivering key initiatives across engagement, performance, reward and compliance. If you’re passionate about combining people, process and culture to make a real impact, this is a fantastic time to join us.
Owning the day-to-day delivery of people operations across the full people lifecycle, including payroll and benefits
Acting as a trusted point of contact for people queries, providing clear support on policies, systems and processes
Managing our people systems such as BambooHR, Culture Amp and PayFit, ensuring accurate data, smooth workflows and compliant records
Maintaining and evolving our people SharePoint hub making it a trusted and accessible resource for our people and leaders
Using people data and feedback to spot trends and deliver insight-driven improvements across onboarding, engagement and retention
Owning our monthly payroll and benefits, partnering closely with Finance and external providers to ensure everything runs smoothly
Owning the upkeep of people policies, templates and SMCR-related processes in partnership with our compliance team
Supporting the delivery of key people programmes such as performance review cycles, engagement surveys, wellbeing initiatives and hybrid ways of working
You have experience owning people operations across key moments in the people lifecycle
You are highly organised and enjoy bringing structure, consistency and pace to processes in a scaling environment
You are confident managing people systems and tools, ensuring accurate data, smooth workflows and a great user experience
You have a detail-oriented mindset and take pride in delivering compliant, high-quality operational foundations
You are a fellow process improvement geek, always looking for smarter, smoother ways of working ‘never settling’
You are people-first in your approach, combining empathy and clear communication when supporting people and leader queries
You have a data-driven mindset, using people metrics and insights to spot trends and suggest meaningful improvements
You are comfortable working in a regulated environment and understand the importance of policies, confidentiality and compliance
You have experience working in a regulated environment, ideally within financial services, and are familiar with SMCR requirements – ideally Enhanced scope.
You enjoy improving people experience through engagement, onboarding, wellbeing and inclusive ways of working (experience delivering DE&I or listening initiatives is desirable)
You have experience and are comfortable owning elements of office operations and health & safety, helping create workplaces that are welcoming, safe and reflective of our culture
You rely on a lot of top-down direction. Here, you’ll have a lot of freedom and ownership of your role, and you’ll be expected to shape your own progression
You’re not comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Our speed and scalability are what set us apart; you need to be able to act quickly and think on your feet
You struggle to follow through on ideas. We value people who do what they say they will. If you care about something, you have the freedom here to make it happen
You don’t like change. You’ll get on great here if you relish the ambiguity of rapid growth and are willing to embrace uncertainty
