Job Description: People Operations Specialist
*** is looking for a People Operations Specialist to join our team on a 6-month fixed term contract with possible extension or conversion to perm. In this role, you'll support a wide variety of projects focused on our People team tooling, employee data, and compliance and will work closely with our People Partners, Payroll, Legal, IT, and Internal Tools to build seamless experiences for our internal customers and ensure the accuracy of our employee data and reporting. You'll work across systems like Workday, Greenhouse, and Checkr to keep things running smoothly. You'll use your eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and tireless commitment to process improvement to implement programs that help all Ants — what we call our employees internally — succeed.
What You'll Do:
Onboarding: Own day-to-day onboarding execution for large new hire cohorts — coordinating start dates, communicating with incoming employees, and ensuring a smooth onboarding experience. You'll work alongside our existing team members to handle volume and cover for each other when weekly onboarding is adopted.
Contingent Worker Onboarding: Collect required information, initiate background checks, send welcome communications, and coordinate start dates with managers.
Conversions & Status Changes: Process full-time to part-time conversions, contractor modifications, and vendor communications.
HRIS Administration: Maintain employee records in Workday, process status changes and updates, and ensure data accuracy across our systems. You'll be a key partner to People Partners and managers when employee records need to be updated or corrected.
People Tickets & Documentation: Triage and respond to internal employee questions and requests, maintaining our people tickets queue. You'll also help build and maintain documentation — onboarding guides, process playbooks, and FAQs — that make it easy for employees and the team to find what they need.
You may be a good fit if you:
Are organized and detail-oriented, with excellent professional judgment. You will manage time-sensitive and critical processes related to compensation, performance, and compliance, and handle our employee data with the utmost care — ensuring accuracy as well as privacy.
Are reliable and responsive. You will be fielding time-sensitive and urgent questions and requests from employees and People team partners.
Have excellent communication skills for coordinating with cross-functional partners.
Are able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize effectively — especially in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift.
Are customer service-oriented. You consider internal teams as "clients" for whom you want to provide a great experience, and you take a flexible and creative approach to problem-solving.
Have experience with HR systems or people operations tools (e.g., Workday, Greenhouse, or similar).
Are comfortable working as part of a team. You'll collaborate closely with a colleague on day-to-day onboarding and tickets, and support each other during busy periods.
