As a People Operations Specialist at Flipster
Are you passionate about building a People & Culture function and creating meaningful employee experiences in a fast-growing company? We’re looking for a People Operations Specialist who will play a pivotal role in building a strong HR foundation in our new Malaysia office and help drive regional initiatives across 15+ countries.
In this role, you will oversee the People team locally — from onboarding to employee relations and payroll — while also shaping global HR initiatives and projects to create impact at a global scale.

Responsibilities

    • Onboarding & Offboarding:
    • Create unforgettable first and last impressions.
    • Lead seamless onboarding and offboarding experiences for employees and contractors.

    • Employee Engagement & Culture:
    • Run eNPS surveys, turn insights into action, and help shape a great workplace.
    • Organize fun and meaningful events — from monthly events to the year-end celebration.

    • Policy & Compliance:
    • Maintain and update Employee and Contractor Handbooks.
    • Manage HRIS records, payroll, leave, and visa processes.
    • Ensure compliance with Malaysian labor laws and reporting (e.g., MOHR).

    • Performance & Compensation:
    • Ensure accurate and timely payroll and reimbursement processing for employees and contractors.
    • Oversee leave and attendance management, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements and company policies.
    • Coordinate performance reviews and promotion processes.

    • Workplace Operations:
    • Manage office seating and workspace arrangements to create an efficient and comfortable environment.
    • Provide support on ad hoc office management projects and handle general administrative tasks as required.

    • Regional Projects
    • Lead and contribute to global HR initiatives that shape how we work across 15+ countries—from building policies to improving processes and employee experience.

    • Employee Relations:
    • Act as the first point of contact for HR queries.
    • Handle grievances and disciplinary cases fairly.
    • Build trust by resolving issues with empathy and efficiency.

Qualifications

    • 8+ years of HR experience with strong knowledge of Malaysian labor laws.
    • Experience with payroll, HRIS systems, and employment passes.
    • Strong people skills—you build trust and relationships easily.
    • Proactive, resourceful, and excited about making HR more than just operations.
    • A love for problem-solving and working in fast-moving environments.

Preferred

    • Crypto/fintech experience is preferred.
