What We Do
Rillet serves finance teams. Our customers are the financial brains of their companies. Our job is to help them run the numbers with impossible speed, accuracy, and insight.
Today, we do that with powerful and elegant accounting software. Our product earns a consistently perfect customer satisfaction score. Our insane ship velocity is great for high-growth AI companies, because our customers like Windsurf, Postscript, and Finch need their financial stack to evolve as quickly as their products do.
This huge market is ours to take. We have raised $100M from leading investors (including Sequoia, a16z, Iconiq, Oak HC/FT, and First Round) to help everyone run their numbers at the speed of AI.
Who We Are
Rillet’s pace is not for everyone. Intelligence is table stakes. To succeed here, you need extreme speed, agency, and flexibility.
Successful Rilleteers do not wait for assignments. They internalize a mission, design a strategy, and bring back results that are better, faster, and more creative than a manager could have asked for.
Work revolves around our customers. Successful Rilleteers are energized by delivering the most important things, even those that weren’t in the original plan.
In this role, you do not need to be an accountant. But you do need to appreciate the value that our customer can create for their own company when we equip them with the perfect financial tools. Successful Rilleteers love powering the financial core of the world’s fastest-growing companies.
Who We Need
As a Founding People Operations Manager, you will establish and scale our people function from the ground up. This is a critical founding role that will shape our organizational culture, build essential HR infrastructure, and create the systems that will support our team as we grow. You will thrive in ambiguity and excel at identifying the highest-impact priorities needed to scale our organization effectively. You will have a significant impact on every aspect of our employee experience, from onboarding and performance management to compensation philosophy and culture development.
We're looking for someone who gets energized by both the tactical and strategic aspects of people operations - someone who can dive deep into the details of designing an onboarding workflow or troubleshooting a benefits issue, while also stepping back to think strategically about long-term talent acquisition, organizational design, and culture evolution. You'll need to seamlessly shift between implementing day-to-day HR processes and developing forward-thinking people strategies that support our ambitious growth plans.
At Rillet, we embrace flexible work arrangements with a remote-first culture. While this position offers remote work flexibility, candidates should be located within commuting distance of our New York City to facilitate in-person collaboration when needed.
What You'll Do:
You'll be responsible for creating right-sized HR frameworks that support our team today and can evolve seamlessly as we expand, ensuring we maintain our culture and operational efficiency at every stage of our journey.
Build and manage foundational HR infrastructure including policies, performance systems, benefits, payroll, and compliance frameworks from the ground up
Own the full employee lifecycle from onboarding through performance management and career development (plus support wider talent and people initiatives ad-hoc!)
Partner with leadership to develop compensation philosophy, job leveling, and equity frameworks that scale with growth
Drive a high-performance culture and engagement initiatives while maintaining compliance with employment laws and HR best practices
Who We're Looking For:
5+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 2 years in a senior HR business partner or people operations role
Proven track record building HR functions at early-stage companies with experience scaling teams from 20-100+ employees preferred
Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices across multiple states/jurisdictions
Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and prioritize initiatives that drive maximum impact for scaling organizations
Experience with HR technology stack including HRIS, ATS, performance management, and benefits administration platforms
Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and advise leadership while maintaining confidentiality and building trust across all levels of the organization
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
