Department Summary:

​​The Human Resources Division at the American Chemical Society is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting the organization’s human capital strategy. Its work touches every stage of the employee lifecycle and supports all ACS divisions.

Position Summary:                   

​​Support the Human Resources department with a variety of administrative tasks involving a business transformation program, including: compiling meeting artifacts (meeting notes, summaries, action items, transcripts and recordings); storing artifacts in Confluence; process-mapping; assisting with process improvement; providing general HR administrative support; and helping with Workday implementation tasks. ​

Job Description: 

We are seeking a People Operations intern to assist with administrative tasks associated with our Workday Business Transformation Program. The intern will gain experience in HR technology implementation, process improvement, document-cataloguing, system administration, and working on an enterprise-wide ERP project.

Duties include:

  1. Assisting with:
    • Process-mapping workshops and documentation
    • Gathering requirements for each HR Center of Excellence (CoE)
    • Future-state process design
    • Process optimization
    • Creating training materials such as user manuals and FAQs
    • Intranet web page updates
  1. Maintaining meeting notes, transcripts and recordings.
  2. Ensuring consistency of file-naming conventions.
  3. Cataloguing meeting documentation in Confluence.
  4. Providing administrative project support.

Education Requirements:
The Ideal candidate will be rising junior, senior majoring in ​​ Human Resources; Business; Business Administration; Information Systems; any Liberal Arts degree

Required Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a major in ​​ Human Resources; Business; Business Administration; Information Systems; any Liberal Arts degree

Pay Transparency: This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office. The following are the intended hourly rates for this part time/nonexempt role: Rising Junior-$24.00; Rising Senior-$25.00; Current Grad/PhD Student- $29.00.

 

Any actual offer of employment, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be made in the sole discretion of ACS. ACS reserves the right to amend or modify its employment benefits and compensation structure at any time.

 

*This position will be primarily based in the Washington D.C. (or applicable) office. ACS employees work a hybrid work schedule, consisting of working onsite, two days per week. Schedule flexibility may be required for this role to support in-office activities. While always welcome to work in the office, employees may work the other three days of the week from a location of their choice.
